Tata Motors Limited and ThunderPlus Solutions Pvt. Ltd. have announced a strategic partnership to accelerate electric vehicle adoption in India’s tier-2, tier-3 cities and rural markets by addressing charging infrastructure gaps. The collaboration follows the launch of the Tata Ace EV Pro, which supports the 3.3 kW AC charging protocol and has gained traction among driver-cum-owners in non-metro regions.

Under the agreement, over 250 ThunderPlus charging hubs across India will be upgraded with 3.3 kW charge points, enabling Tata Ace EV Pro users to access “charge + park” facilities. ThunderPlus will also deploy 30 kW GB/T chargers to support Tata Motors’ broader EV portfolio, including the Ace 1000 EV, Ace Pro, and Express-T.

Customers will be able to locate and navigate to ThunderPlus chargers via Tata Motors’ Fleet Edge app, which offers real-time availability and route guidance. ThunderPlus has also introduced a compact AC charger priced at ₹9,999, designed to support 2W, 3W, and 4W vehicles. These chargers can be installed at homes, warehouses, dairy parlors, and other community spaces, turning them into micro-charging hubs.

The initiative is linked to ThunderPlus’ “Charger Lagao Paisa Kamao” campaign, which allows charger owners to earn passive income by listing their units on the ThunderPlus app for public use.

“This partnership aligns perfectly with our strategy of deepening presence in tier-2 and tier-3 cities and penetrating Bharat’s EV ecosystem,” said Rajeev YSR, CEO of ThunderPlus Solutions Pvt. Ltd. “Our campaign ‘Charger Lagao Paisa Kamao’ further empowers individuals to turn everyday spaces into viable charging points while earning passive income.”

Pinaki Haldar, Vice President and Business Head, Tata Motors Commercial Vehicles, added, “Customer confidence is central to EV adoption. This partnership with India’s leading Charging Point Operators underscores our dedication to building a robust support network and enabling profitable, zero-emission logistics for entrepreneurs and transporters across the country.”

The collaboration reflects a shared commitment to building an inclusive EV charging ecosystem that extends beyond metropolitan areas and supports India’s broader transition to sustainable mobility.
