Switch Mobility Secures Supply Order for 650 Electric Buses in Maharashtra

Commercial vehicle maker will supply buses to Sai Green Projects for deployment across Mumbai and Pune.

Commercial vehicle manufacturer Switch Mobility has secured an order to supply 650 electric buses to Sai Green Projects Private Limited, according to a company announcement on Thursday. The vehicles will be deployed across public transit networks in Mumbai and Pune under Phase II of the Central Government’s PM E-Drive scheme.

Under the contract terms, Switch Mobility will supply nine-meter electric buses in both air-conditioned and non-air-conditioned configurations. Operator Sai Green Projects secured the tender issued by Convergence Energy Services Limited (CESL) to run the fleet for Brihanmumbai Electric Supply and Transport (BEST) in Mumbai and Pune Mahanagar Parivahan Mahamandal Limited (PMPML) in Pune.

The company stated that it has deployed over 2,500 electric buses in India to date, with its global fleet covering more than 185 million kilometers across urban transit, intercity, and specialized transport applications.
