Switch Mobility Displays Electric Bus at Mauritius Expo

Switch Mobility, a global manufacturer of electric buses and light commercial vehicles under the Hinduja Group, displayed a specially configured international variant of its SWITCH EiV12 electric bus at the Best of Bharat & Mauritius Expo 2026, held in Mauritius from June 17 to June 21.

The 12-metre, fully electric intracity bus was shown bearing an international-market decal, a move the company said reflects its ambition to position India as a hub for clean, connected mobility. The expo was organised by the Global Organization of People of Indian Origin (GOPIO).

The showcase follows Switch Mobility's earlier delivery of 100 electric buses to the Government of Mauritius this year, described by the company as the largest electric bus export from India to date. Most of these buses have already been deployed by the National Transport Corporation (NTC), Mauritius's state transport operator.

The EiV12 unit on display at the expo is operated by Triolet Bus Service and is configured to seat 48 passengers. According to the company, the bus is powered by a permanent magnet synchronous AC motor with a peak output of 235 kW, paired with lithium iron phosphate (LFP) battery chemistry adapted for tropical conditions.

The vehicle supports DC fast charging through a CCS-2 interface with dual-gun capability, which the company says reduces turnaround time between trips. Its floor-mounted battery layout is designed to lower the centre of gravity for stability, while front and rear air suspension is intended to improve ride comfort. Depending on battery configuration, the bus can offer a range of up to 300 km.

The EiV12 also integrates SWITCH iON, the company's connected-vehicle platform, which provides remote diagnostics, health monitoring and predictive maintenance capabilities. The bus additionally includes a Fire Detection and Suppression System (FDSS) as part of its safety features.

Switch Mobility said its participation in the expo underscores the company's expanding international presence and its continued focus on sustainable public transport solutions.
