Suzuki Motorcycle India reports 8% growth in November 2024, sells 94,370 units
Suzuki Motorcycle India’s November 2024 sales saw an 8% increase, with domestic sales growing by 7% and exports rising by 15%.
Suzuki Motorcycle India Pvt. Ltd. (SMIPL), the two-wheeler subsidiary of Suzuki Motor Corporation, Japan, has announced its sales figures for November 2024. The company achieved total sales of 94,370 units, marking an 8% growth compared to 87,096 units sold in November 2023.
In the domestic market, SMIPL sold 78,333 units, reflecting a 7% increase from 73,135 units in the same period last year. The company’s exports grew by 15% with 16,037 units sold in international markets, compared to 13,961 units exported in November 2023.
Commenting on the performance, Devashish Handa, Executive Vice President, Sales, Marketing & After Sales, Suzuki Motorcycle India Pvt. Ltd., said, “The growth in our sales underline the confidence that customers place in Suzuki two-wheelers. This achievement reflects the success of our customer-centric approach, along with the unwavering dedication of our team, partners and dealer network. In addition to this growth, Suzuki Motor Corporation has teamed up with Tata Elxsi to inaugurate the ‘SUZUKI-TATA ELXSI Offshore Development Center’ in Pune. The new center aims to support Suzuki’s green mobility initiatives by focusing on next-generation powertrains, energy-efficient solutions, and designs for electric and hybrid vehicles. The partnership will leverage Tata Elxsi’s expertise in advanced engineering, digital transformation, and sustainability to accelerate Suzuki’s development of eco-friendly vehicles.
At the launch, Suzuki’s Chief Technology Officer, Katsuhiro Kato, emphasised the strategic importance of the center in advancing Suzuki's innovation, particularly in the context of connected, autonomous, shared, and electric technologies. The collaboration with Tata Elxsi aligns with Suzuki’s commitment to energy minimization and sustainable mobility solutions. The new center is a crucial step towards shaping the future of automotive engineering, with an emphasis on eco-friendly materials, lightweight designs, and advanced simulations to meet evolving industry demands.
