Suzuki Motorcycle India Private Limited has opened bookings for its first electric scooter, the e-ACCESS, with an ex-showroom price of Rs 1,88,490 in Delhi, positioning the vehicle above most mainstream competitors in India's growing electric two-wheeler segment.
The pricing places the Suzuki e-ACCESS at a premium compared to established rivals. The Bajaj Chetak is priced at Rs. 1.07 lakh, Honda Activa e at Rs. 1.18 lakh, and Ola S1 Pro at Rs. 1.25 lakh, while the Ather 450X is priced at Rs. 1.55 lakh. This makes the Suzuki e-ACCESS approximately 58 percent more expensive than the Bajaj Chetak and 51 percent costlier than the Ola S1 Pro.
To offset the higher sticker price, Suzuki is offering several value propositions aimed at reducing total cost of ownership. The company provides an extended warranty of up to seven years or 80,000 kilometers at no additional cost, along with an introductory buy-back assurance of up to 60 percent of the vehicle's value after three years.
Customer-specific incentives further reduce the effective purchase price. Existing Suzuki customers qualify for a loyalty bonus of up to Rs 10,000, while new customers can receive a welcome bonus of up to Rs 7,000. These offers bring the effective price down to Rs 1,78,490 for loyal customers and Rs 1,81,490 for new buyers.
Retail finance options start at an interest rate of 5.99 percent, and flexible rental options ranging from 24 hours to three years are available for customers seeking alternatives to outright purchase.
Competitive Positioning
In terms of specifications at this price point, the e-ACCESS delivers mixed value. The scooter is powered by a 4.1 kW motor with 15 Nm torque, which is comparable to competitors. However, range and performance figures have not been officially disclosed by Suzuki, making direct comparisons with rivals difficult.
For context, the Ola S1 Pro+ Gen 3 boasts a 320 km range and 141 km/h top speed, while the Ather 450X offers 161 km range and a 90 km/h top speed. The Bajaj Chetak 3503 provides a 151 km range, and even the more affordable TVS iQube offers a range of 100 km and a top speed of 78 km/h.
The e-ACCESS differentiates itself through its battery technology and build quality. Suzuki has equipped the scooter with a Lithium Iron Phosphate (LFP) battery, which the company claims offers up to four times longer battery life than Nickel Manganese Cobalt (NMC) batteries commonly used in competing models. The maintenance-free drive belt is rated for up to seven years or 70,000 kilometers.
Features and Infrastructure
The e-ACCESS includes three ride modes (Eco, Ride A, and Ride B), reverse mode, and regenerative braking. Standard features comprise LED lighting, two-tone alloy wheels, and an aluminum battery case integrated into the lightweight chassis. The scooter maintains consistent performance even at 10 percent state of charge, according to the manufacturer.
Four dual-tone color options are available: Metallic Mat Black No.2 with Metallic Mat Bordeaux Red, Pearl Grace White with Metallic Mat Fibroin Gray, Pearl Jade Green with Metallic Mat Fibroin Gray, and the newly introduced Metallic Mat Stellar Blue with Metallic Mat Fibroin Gray.
Suzuki has established charging infrastructure across more than 1,200 outlets in India. DC fast chargers are operational at over 240 locations, with AC portable chargers available at all outlets. The company has deployed certified EV technicians across its service network.
Market Context
India's electric two-wheeler market has witnessed significant growth, with over 1.2 lakh electric two-wheelers sold in July 2025. TVS iQube leads with nearly 22 percent market share, followed by Bajaj Chetak with almost 20 percent. Hero Vida recorded 107 percent year-over-year growth, while Ola Electric, once the market leader, has slipped to third position.
Kenichi Umeda, Managing Director of Suzuki Motorcycle India, stated that the e-ACCESS represents Suzuki's first global strategic battery electric vehicle, emphasizing long-life battery, agile handling, and seamless acceleration as key differentiators.
Bookings for the e-ACCESS are now open at all authorized Suzuki dealerships nationwide. The scooter will also be available for purchase through Flipkart once sales commence.
Suzuki Motorcycle India, operational since February 2006, manufactures two-wheelers at its Gurugram facility with an annual production capacity of 1.3 million units. The e-ACCESS marks the company's entry into the electric mobility segment, following its established presence in the 125cc scooter and premium motorcycle categories.
