Suprajit Engineering reported a 4.7% year-on-year increase in consolidated net profit to ₹53.4 crore for the second quarter ended September 30, 2026, compared with ₹50.9 crore in the corresponding quarter last year. Consolidated revenue from operations rose 20.6% to ₹1,135.1 crore from ₹941 crore in Q2 FY26.

However, the increase in revenue translated into relatively modest profit growth, with consolidated total expenses rising 17.9% to ₹1,054.3 crore during the quarter, against ₹894.5 crore a year earlier. The company's profit before tax increased 4.5% to ₹84.9 crore from ₹81.2 crore.

Another factor affecting the comparison was a substantial decline in other income, which fell to ₹4 crore in Q2 FY27 from ₹34.7 crore in the year-ago quarter. Consequently, total income increased 16.8% to ₹1,139.2 crore.

The results also show a divergence between the company's standalone and consolidated performance. On a standalone basis, Suprajit Engineering's revenue from operations increased 15.9% year on year to ₹564.7 crore. However, standalone net profit declined 23.2% to ₹68 crore from ₹88.4 crore in Q2 FY26. Standalone profit before tax fell 19.5% to ₹89.5 crore.

Consolidated Revenue Growth And Expenses

The increase in consolidated expenses was primarily reflected in the cost of materials consumed, which rose to ₹623.2 crore in Q2 FY27 from ₹374.4 crore in the corresponding quarter last year. Employee benefit expenses increased to ₹250.7 crore from ₹226.3 crore, while other expenses rose to ₹119.7 crore from ₹107.7 crore.

Depreciation and amortisation expenses increased to ₹40.6 crore from ₹37 crore, while finance costs edged up to ₹17 crore from ₹16.1 crore.

The decline in other income was also significant in the quarter-on-quarter and year-on-year comparisons. Consolidated other income stood at ₹4 crore, compared with ₹42.2 crore in Q1 FY27 and ₹34.7 crore in Q2 FY26.

Half-Year Performance

For the first half of FY27, Suprajit Engineering reported consolidated revenue from operations of ₹2,204.7 crore, up 22.2% from ₹1,803.9 crore in the corresponding period last year.

Consolidated net profit increased 5.6% to ₹105.6 crore from ₹100 crore in H1 FY26. Profit before tax rose to ₹161.3 crore from ₹152.2 crore.

Total expenses for the six-month period increased to ₹2,043.6 crore from ₹1,720.4 crore. The company reported that the consolidated figures for the current period are not directly comparable with the previous year because the second stage of the Stahlschmidt Cable Systems (SCS) acquisition, covering its Canadian and Chinese operations, was consolidated from May 31, 2025.

On a standalone basis, revenue for H1 FY27 increased to ₹1,034.3 crore from ₹877.4 crore. However, net profit declined to ₹115.4 crore from ₹137.7 crore in the corresponding period last year.

Board Recommends Independent Director Appointment

Separately, Suprajit Engineering's board has recommended the appointment of Dr Steffen Berns as a Non-Executive Independent Director for a three-year term, from January 1, 2027, to December 31, 2029. The appointment is subject to shareholder approval through a postal ballot.
