SUN Mobility, a company specializing in sustainable energy solutions, has announced the launch of retrofit kits for Tata ACE vehicles in collaboration with Bluwheelz. The initiative provides a fleet operators with the option to convert their existing Tata ACE internal combustion engine (ICE) or fixed battery vehicles to swappable electric vehicles (EVs) using SUN Mobility's battery swapping technology.

The launch event was attended by Tata ACE fleet operators and financers. The retrofit solution is presented as a way for operators to potentially reduce costs compared to purchasing new diesel or CNG vehicles. According to the officials, operators switching from CNG vehicles to retrofit battery swapping EVs may save approximately 30% in monthly costs, while those switching from diesel vehicles may save about 40% per month.

The electric Tata ACE, equipped with SUN Mobility's swappable battery technology, is described as offering extended vehicle life, reduced operational costs, and increased uptime. The ability to operate during no-entry hours in the Delhi area is noted as a potential advantage for productivity.

The retrofit option is presented as a way for businesses to align with government regulations mandating conversion to electric vehicles while potentially maintaining their existing operations without significant new vehicle investments.

Anant Badjatya, CEO of SUN Mobility, stated that the initiative would be launched in NCR before expanding to other states. Sanjiv Gupta, Founder & Chairman of Bluwheelz, expressed support for the collaboration, describing the retrofit kits as a solution for transitioning to electric vehicles while potentially reducing carbon footprint and enhancing operational efficiency.

The event also provided an opportunity for discussions with fleet operators regarding their views on transitioning to electric vehicles.
