SKF Appoints Divya Purohit to Lead Lubrication Lifetime Solutions in India

SKF Engineering & Lubrication India Pvt Ltd has announced the appointment of Divya Purohit as India Head of Lubrication Lifetime Solutions, marking a strategic move to strengthen the company's position in the country's expanding industrial sector.

In his new role, Purohit will oversee SKF's lubrication solutions business, focusing on innovation, lean manufacturing, operational excellence, and customer-centric value creation across India.

Purohit brings more than two decades of international leadership experience spanning South Asia, Europe, the Middle East, and Africa. His career includes senior positions at leading industrial companies, where he demonstrated expertise in scaling businesses, driving sustainability initiatives, and integrating circular economy principles into industrial operations.

Previously, Purohit served as Head of the Grains and Food Business for South Asia at Bühler Group and as Business Line Manager for India & Nepal at Atlas Copco, where he led business expansion initiatives and developed organizational capabilities.

Speaking about his appointment, Purohit highlighted India's economic trajectory and SKF's readiness to support the nation's industrial growth. "The Indian economy is powering ahead, and SKF's strong brand presence in India, anchored by our world-class green manufacturing facility in Bangalore, positions us well to support this growth," he stated.

Aligned with the Make in India initiative, SKF plans to increase domestic production of advanced lubrication solutions, ensuring customers receive globally benchmarked systems manufactured locally.

Purohit emphasized the importance of innovation as a core driver. "In an industry that thrives on innovation, my belief is simple — it begins with a mindset that there is always a better way," he explained. He aims to strengthen SKF's culture of curiosity, collaboration, and courage to drive operational excellence and sustainable growth while maintaining the company's position as a trusted partner across industrial segments.

Under Purohit's leadership, SKF Lubrication will focus on several key areas. The company will foster innovation to scale ideas into impactful solutions while expanding domestic production of advanced lubrication systems. Operational excellence will be enhanced through digitalization, artificial intelligence, and smart technologies.

Customer-centricity remains central to the strategy, with plans to strengthen service networks and expand local production capabilities. Sustainability through circularity will continue as a cornerstone, ensuring solutions create customer value while minimizing environmental impact.

SKF's Lubrication Lifetime Solutions business is built on a global legacy strengthened through strategic acquisitions including Lincoln, RecondOil, Alemite, Mityvac, and JSG, representing over 360 years of cumulative expertise. The company has pioneered lubrication technologies that extend bearing life, enhance machinery reliability, and improve energy efficiency.

SKF's advanced solutions are built on the 5+1R principle of reliability: delivering the right lubricant, in the right quantity, using the right method, at the right time, to the right point, with the right connectivity. This framework reduces friction, minimizes wear, and boosts productivity.

The company's comprehensive range spans from manual to fully automatic lubrication systems, enabling consistent, contamination-free lubrication that improves energy efficiency, lowers maintenance costs, and maximizes uptime. By integrating lubrication with condition monitoring and precision maintenance practices, SKF delivers measurable improvements in productivity, safety, and total cost of ownership.

Founded in 1907, SKF manufactures bearings, seals, lubrication systems, condition monitoring solutions, and services designed to reduce friction and improve energy efficiency. The company operates in approximately 130 countries with around 17,000 distributor locations worldwide. In 2024, SKF reported annual sales of SEK 98,722 million with 38,743 employees globally.
