Auto component major SKF has appointed Mukund Vasudevan as President, of Industrial Region of India and Southeast Asia. The development comes a month after Manish Bhatnagar, then President of Industrial Region India and Southeast Asia (ISEA) was moved to the role of new President, Industrial Region Americas.
Mukund will succeed Fredrik Hallen, Acting President of the Industrial Region of India and Southeast Asia.
As per the company statement, Mukund who joins on 8 April, will be responsible for continuing SKF’s strategic transformation and profitable growth journey in the ISEA region. He has extensive experience in multi-national commercial and industrial executive positions, including a proven track record in building high-performance teams. Mukund also adds entrepreneurial perspectives from working with start-ups, the statement added.
“India and Southeast Asia is an important region for us where we have high ambitions to grow profitably. Mukund’s background and experience are highly relevant for our business in the ISEA region, and he will bring fresh perspectives having worked with several industries, but also with emerging markets, cleantech and start-ups,” said Rickard Gustafson, President and CEO at SKF.
In a related development, Shailesh Kumar Sharma, whole-time Director and on Board of auto major SKF has resigned from his position as a result of organisational changes.
"I hereby submit my resignation as the whole-time Director and from the Board of SKF India Ltd effective from 8th April 2024 due to organisational changes," Sharma wrote in his resignation letter to the company management.
As per Sharma's profile on LinkedIn, a professional networking platform, he was currently associated with SKF as Director of operations which included manufacturing, publishing and logistics and demand chain for India and southeast Asia.
Sharma, who comes with over three decades of industry experience, first joined SKF way back in 2005 as a Process Engineer- at CRB and TRB before growing up in the hierarchy as project manager, followed by becoming head of manufacturing engineering, and factory manager at Bengaluru and Pune. He attained his current position in November 2022. Before joining SKF, Sharma worked with NEI Limited and Gajra Gears. Sharma's last day in his current position will be April 8.
