Simple energy introduces 8-Year warranty on both battery and motor, a first in India
The electric mobility start-up launches extended warranty programs, offering an 8-year or 60,000-kilometre warranty on its motor and battery
Simple Energy, an Indian electric and clean energy start-up, has introduced its Simple Protect and Simple Super Protect extended warranty programs. Simple Protect covers the battery, while Simple Super Protect covers both the battery and motor. With this offering, Simple Energy becomes the first company in India to provide an 8-year or 60,000-kilometre warranty (whichever comes first) on its motor, along with its electric scooter battery.
Many consumers remain cautious about electric two-wheelers due to concerns around safety, durability, and reliability. Simple Energy has designed its batteries with advanced thermal management, vibration resistance, and chemical engineering to enhance their longevity. Each battery pack is equipped with multiple safety features, and the company's patented motor technology is designed to perform well under real-world conditions.
The company's research and development focus has allowed it to create batteries and motors that stand out in the market. This attention to design, material selection, validation testing, and in-house manufacturing ensures high-quality components. These processes contribute to the extended warranty period, which offers reassurance to potential electric vehicle buyers.
Suhas Rajkumar, Founder and CEO of Simple Energy, said, “We are the first in the industry to offer an 8-year warranty on our patented motor, reflecting our commitment to innovation and quality. Our investments in research and development allow us to raise the standards in electric mobility. This extended warranty is a response to consumer needs and expectations.”
Simple Energy currently operates seven stores in locations such as Rajajinagar, Marathahalli, and JP Nagar in Bangalore, as well as in Goa, Vijayawada, Pune, and Kochi. The company manufactures 95% of its scooter components in-house and operates a motor manufacturing line in its 200,000-square-foot plant in Shoolagiri, Tamil Nadu. Simple Energy offers two versions of its Simple One electric scooter: one with a certified range of 212 km and another with a certified range of 151 km.
