Setrans Mobility Receives Patent for Indigenous EV Charging System

Clean mobility technology firm Setrans Mobility has been granted a patent by the Indian Patent Office for its electric vehicle (EV) charging system.

The Noida-headquartered company designed and engineered the triple-mode charging architecture domestically, without relying on foreign technology partnerships.

The patented technology is structured around three operational modes intended to manage power delivery and grid strain: A smart On-Grid Mode that regulates energy delivery during stationary charging to reduce peak-load impact on the electrical grid, an Integrated Off-Grid Backup that uses built-in energy storage units to sustain charging functions during grid power outages and an On-Demand Mobile Mode which utilizes a modular system to transport mobile charging capabilities directly to vehicle locations.

"Securing this patent validates our team's focus on pioneering engineering solutions in India," said Rana Roshan Singh, Chief Executive Officer of Setrans Mobility.

The company stated that the charging architecture does not require extensive grid infrastructure upgrades for commercial installation. Setrans Mobility plans to begin commercial rollout of the patented technology across retail, commercial, and automotive distribution networks.
