Rosmerta Awarded ₹166.69 Cr BOOT Project for 10 Automated Driving Testing Tracks in Maharashtra
Five-year contract covers construction and operation of AI-enabled, contactless driving test facilities across ten districts, aiming to enhance transparency, standardisation, and local access to driver testing infrastructure.
Rosmerta Group has been awarded a Build-Own-Operate-Transfer (BOOT) project worth ₹166.69 crore to establish 10 Automated Driving Testing Tracks (ADTTs) across Maharashtra. The five-year project involves building and managing testing facilities in Sindhudurg, Sangli, Akluj, Osmanabad, Jalna, Hingoli, Yavatmal, Wardha, Bhandara, and Gadchiroli.
The upcoming ADTTs will use automated systems based on video analytics and facial recognition to evaluate driving skills and verify applicant identities. These facilities aim to minimise human involvement in the assessment process and standardise driver evaluations.
Rosmerta’s system leverages real-time video feeds, AI-powered analysis, and a configurable test setup to track performance and driver behaviour. The infrastructure will support testing for various driving conditions and tasks, including night driving simulations, reverse S, parking, and slope handling.
The company reports that its automated test tracks have been used in over 1.6 million driving assessments to date. It also operates 12 government-run ADTTs in Delhi since 2021.
Kartick Nagpal, President of Rosmerta Group, said the initiative supports digitalisation of road safety infrastructure and facilitates local access to standardised testing. He also acknowledged the Maharashtra State Transport Department’s role in adopting automated solutions to improve road safety.
The project aligns with the Government of India’s Surakshit Safar initiative, which promotes digital mobility solutions and data-based decision-making in road transport.
