Renault Opens First new’R Store in Maharashtra, Expands Retail Footprint in Mumbai
The newly launched outlet in Kandivali, Mumbai, introduces Renault’s updated global showroom format with a modern design, enhanced customer experience, and new visual identity as part of its retail transformation strategy.
Renault India has inaugurated its first new’R store in Maharashtra and second in the country, located in Kandivali, Mumbai. The new showroom aligns with Renault’s “renault. rethink.” brand transformation initiative and features the company’s New Visual Identity (NVI) aimed at offering a more modern and customer-friendly retail environment.
The Mumbai store follows the new design guidelines laid out globally, incorporating a black façade and updated logo. The showroom spans approximately 2,100 sq. ft. and features a central vehicle display area that allows a 360-degree view of each model, dedicated consultation spaces, and a modern customer lounge. It can accommodate three display vehicles and is designed to provide an improved and immersive car-buying experience.
Francisco Hidalgo, Vice President (Sales & Marketing), Renault India Operations, stated that the brand transformation strategy for 2025 aims to reshape Renault’s image in India. He added that, alongside the new Design Centre in Chennai, this store further extends the brand’s presence while showcasing its global design standards.
Sanjay Thakker, Chairman and Founder of Group Landmark, said that the new store represents more than just expansion. According to him, it reflects Renault’s evolving approach to retail and underlines its focus on offering a consistent customer experience in line with international practices.
The store’s layout positions after-sales and advisor zones around the perimeter for better accessibility. The central space remains focused on vehicles to streamline navigation and enhance customer engagement. This format supports the brand’s wider “renaulution” strategy that emphasizes brand development, portfolio upgrades, and a future-ready retail network.
To further support its offerings, Renault India continues to provide a standard 3-year/100,000 km warranty, with an optional extended 7-year/unlimited km warranty. In addition, the company has introduced government approved CNG retrofitment kit options to its vehicle lineup.
Renault India is a wholly owned subsidiary of Renault S.A.S., France. Its vehicles are manufactured at the Oragadam facility near Chennai, which has a production capacity of 480,000 units annually. Renault currently operates through more than 350 sales and 450 service touchpoints nationwide, including over 210 “Workshop on Wheels” locations.
