Renault Expands Kiger Line-up With Four New Variants
Renault India has added four new variants to the Kiger SUV range across its turbo and naturally aspirated powertrains, lowering entry prices for turbo and premium-feature trims in a bid to widen the model's appeal in the competitive entry B-SUV segment.
Renault India, a wholly owned subsidiary of Renault Group, has expanded the variant line-up of its Kiger SUV, introducing a new Evolution+ trim across both Naturally Aspirated (manual and AMT) and Turbo (manual) powertrains. The update brings features such as a Smart Access Card with push start/stop, automatic climate control and wireless smartphone replication to lower price points than before.
With the change, the Kiger Turbo's starting price now stands at Rs 7.89 lakh (ex-showroom), which the company says makes it the most accessible turbo-powered vehicle in the entry B-SUV segment. The Evolution+ variant on the naturally aspirated side starts at Rs 6.99 lakh (ex-showroom).
The Turbo line-up has been expanded from three to five variants, with the Techno trim now also offered with a 5-speed manual transmission in addition to the existing options. The Naturally Aspirated range has grown from six to eight variants, giving buyers a wider spread of choices across price points.
On the Kiger Turbo, ex-showroom all-India prices now stand at Rs 7,89,000 for the Evolution+ manual, Rs 8,45,000 for the Techno manual and Rs 9,35,000 for the Techno X-Tronic CVT, while the Emotion variant is priced at Rs 9,35,000 for the manual and Rs 10,35,000 for the X-Tronic CVT.
On the naturally aspirated Kiger Energy range, the Authentic manual is priced at Rs 5,81,000. The Evolution variant starts at Rs 6,55,000 for the manual and Rs 6,99,000 for the Easy-R AMT, while the Evolution+ variant is priced at Rs 6,99,000 for the manual and Rs 7,45,000 for the AMT. The Techno variant costs Rs 7,55,000 for the manual and Rs 8,05,000 for the AMT, and the range-topping Emotion variant is available only in manual form at Rs 8,45,000.
The Kiger continues to be built at Renault's manufacturing facility in Oragadam, Chennai, which has an annual production capacity of 480,000 units. The company says it maintains close to 638 sales and service touchpoints across India, including more than 200 Workshop on Wheels locations.
