Informa Markets in India launched the 18th edition of Renewable Energy India (REI) Expo alongside the 3rd edition of The Battery Show India (TBSI) at India Expo Mart, Greater Noida. The three-day event, running through November 1, represents South Asia's largest gathering of clean energy stakeholders under the theme "Decoding Pathways to Achieve Net Zero."
The co-located exhibitions feature over 700 REI exhibitors representing 1,000 brands, alongside 350 TBSI exhibitors with 400 brands. The event expects to draw more than 55,000 professionals across renewable energy, battery manufacturing, and energy storage sectors. International participation includes country pavilions from Germany, Belgium, China, Japan, and Korea, with 46 German companies alone showcasing technologies in solar, wind, bioenergy, and green hydrogen.
India's Renewable Energy Progress
India has surpassed 250 GW of renewable energy capacity in 2025, with the government targeting 500 GW by 2030. The Ministry of Power has approved ₹5,400 crore in Viability Gap Funding for 30 GWh of Battery Energy Storage Systems, expected to attract ₹33,000 crore in investments by 2028.
Shri Manu Srivastava, Additional Chief Secretary for New & Renewable Energy, Government of Madhya Pradesh, highlighted India's achievement in delivering round-the-clock solar-plus-storage power at ₹2.70 per unit. The recently announced 440 MW solar-plus-storage project in Morena, Madhya Pradesh, demonstrates 95% availability during four peak hours through battery energy storage systems.
State-Level Initiatives
Debashish Das, Head of RE Nodal Agency, Government of Odisha, outlined the state's renewable energy strategy under the Odisha Renewable Energy Policy. The state, which contributes 25% of India's coal reserves and accounts for significant steel, aluminum, and cement production, is prioritizing floating solar projects across 2.25 lakh square kilometers of water reservoirs to preserve agricultural land.

Solis Technologies introduced its 125 kW Hybrid Inverter featuring 4-in-1 smart functionality for commercial and industrial applications. The system integrates PV generation, battery charge/discharge capabilities up to 200 A, seamless switching between grid, off-grid, and generator modes in under 10 milliseconds, and AI-driven energy management systems.
Replus unveiled a 5 GW energy storage system aimed at expanding India's battery manufacturing capacity.
LONGi and INOX Solar announced a strategic partnership to supply 5 GW of high-efficiency solar modules over three years for the Indian market. INOX is simultaneously establishing a 10 GW solar cell manufacturing plant and expanding module production by 3 GW in Odisha, with operations expected to begin in Q2 2026.
Industry Developments
Goldi Solar, India's largest solar photovoltaic manufacturer, operates 14.7 GW of module capacity with 17.2 GW of cell manufacturing planned. The company showcased four new high-efficiency modules, including India's first in-house Inter-Digitated Back Contact module delivering up to 665 Wp at 23.08% efficiency.
Gautam Solar presented its G12R series 640 W module, offering 5% higher output compared to 590 W modules while utilizing the same land area. The company operates 4 GW of ALMM-approved module capacity with 1 GW under implementation and a solar cell facility scheduled for 2026.
Vikram Solar launched Hypersol Pro, a high-efficiency solar module designed under the Make in India initiative.
DASH PV Technologies, operating at 40 GW capacity expanding to 63 GW, introduced an interconnect busbar product line scaling from 6.5 GW to 25 GW by March 2026.
