PMI Electro appoints Aanchal Jain as CEO

PMI Electro has announced the appointment of Aanchal Jain as its Chief Executive Officer (CEO).

With a Ph.D. in Economics from Northwestern University and an MSc in Economics from The London School of Economics and Political Science (LSE), Aanchal possesses a unique blend of skills in policy, macro-economy analysis, and business acumen. She is a visiting scholar at Harvard University and faculty at University of California, Berkeley.

Announcing the appointment, Satish Jain, Chairman and Managing Director, PMI Electro shared, “It gives us pride to bring the second rung of leadership at the country’s largest electric bus OEM with global experience and perspective. Aanchal’s appointment is a reflection of the evolving face of contemporary leadership with a dynamic fusion of global experience, vision and diversity. Her expertise will help PMI steer through new challenges faced by large electric vehicle OEMS in terms of fast-paced growth and capex-hungry financing requirements.”

Aanchal Jain said, “I am delighted to bring global vision and inclusivity to the existing leadership at PMI Electro. While a lot has been achieved, I want to work towards driving the next phase of growth at PMI Electro through focused approach to R&D and use technology to expand the electric commercial vehicle portfolio of PMI. I hope that through technology we will be able to contribute better and participate in the country’s growth in the move towards electrification of mass mobility”.

With a state-of-the-art production facility located in Delhi NCR, PMI Electro boasts an annual capacity of 1500 electric commercial vehicles (eCVs). As the only original equipment manufacturer (OEM) in India developing 7-metre, 9-metre, and 12-metre electric buses, PMI Electro possesses an extensive product portfolio.

With over 1,180 e-buses currently operating across 28 cities in India, the company continues to revolutionize the public transportation landscape, offering sustainable and efficient mobility solutions.
