Park+ Moves Core Infrastructure To Akamai Cloud, Targets 50-60% Cost Reduction

Park+, an Indian auto-tech platform, has migrated its core infrastructure to Akamai Cloud, with the company expecting the move to reduce infrastructure costs by 50–60 percent. The migration is intended to simplify its multi-cloud operations and support the expansion of its digital services.

The migration covered more than 150 microservices running on Kubernetes, over 100 SQL databases across more than 20 clusters, as well as multiple Redis, Elasticsearch and Kafka clusters. It also involved transferring more than 100TB of structured data and more than 600TB of object storage.

Akamai and Park+ implemented the migration in phases, with parallel environments used to gradually shift workloads while maintaining business continuity. The process also included data-migration tools and approaches intended to maintain data consistency and integrity. Akamai’s Professional Services team provided round-the-clock support during critical stages of the migration.

Park+ To Evaluate Additional Workloads On Akamai

Hitesh Gupta, Co-founder and CPTO+ at Park+, said simplifying infrastructure while maintaining reliability and cost efficiency had become a priority as the platform expanded. He said Akamai’s pricing model, platform stability and engineering support were factors in the migration and that the move would allow Park+ teams to focus on further development of its platform.

Mitesh Jain, Regional Vice President, India, Akamai Technologies, said the migration demonstrates how cloud infrastructure can be modernised while maintaining the requirements associated with operating at scale.

Park+ is also evaluating the migration of additional workloads, including content delivery and security, to Akamai. The company said this could further streamline its operations and support platform performance.
