Ola launches three S1X variants within Rs 1 lakh segment

Ola Electric showcased three new electric scooters targeted under Rs 1 lakh, on independence day. The EV manufacturer today unveiled the S1X entry-level electric scooter pricing S1X+ (3kw) sold at an introductory price of Rs 99,999, Ola S1X at Rs 89999 and Ola S1x (2kw) for Rs 79,999 with prices limited from today till August 21, 2023.

Ola also showed four new electric motorcycle prototypes, including the "Cruiser," "Adventure," and "Roadster," as well as an electric sports superbike.

Ola Electric Founder and CEO Bhavish Aggarwal said that the company has straddled every price point electric scooter from Rs 80,000 to Rs 1,50,000 for the top-spec S1Pro, giving the ICE consumer no reason not to switch to EVs, including electric motorcycles.

"The one area where we were relying on was service."  "Ola Electric is introducing 100 new service centres today, in addition to the 400 centres that are operational across India, which will give our new customers confidence that servicing is available," Bhavish stated.

While the purchasing window for 2G Ola S1 X, S1 X+, and S1 X (2kW) vehicles will open today for consumers to book their vehicles, deliveries will not begin until December 2023, according to the Ola founder.

Bhavesh also demonstrated his lithium cells at the occasion, claiming that his 100 GWh gigafactory, which would be operational next year, will meet domestic and worldwide customer demand.

While the world's current lithium ION cell production is 1500 GWh, Bhavish claimed that "Ola's 100 GWh cell manufacturing facility will match LG's facility to make cells in Poland."

The new MoveOS4 version for its electric scooters was also presented by India's largest electric scooter manufacturer.

This is how Ola has finally priced its electric scooters, with the Ola S1 Pro costing Rs 1,47,499 and the Ola S1 Air costing Rs 1,19,999.

The Ola S1 X series starts with the Ola S1 X (2kw): Rs 89,999 (introductory price: Rs 79,999 from now till Aug 21), followed by the Ola S1 X: Rs 99,999 (introductory price: Rs 89,999 from today till Aug 21) and the Ola S1 X+: Rs 1,09,999 (on-sale price: Rs 99,999 from today until August 21).
