Ola Electric has begun distributing its MoveOS 5 software update to all S1 scooters and Roadster X motorcycles through over-the-air downloads starting this week. The update introduces over 50 new features designed to improve vehicle performance, extend range, and provide users with greater control over their riding experience.
The software upgrade focuses on energy management optimization and real-time system monitoring. According to the company, these improvements result in better battery performance and health across all vehicle generations, along with enhanced energy recuperation through improved regenerative braking systems.
Among the notable additions is DIY Mode, which allows riders to customize top speed, power output, throttle sensitivity, and regenerative braking settings to create personalized riding configurations. The update also introduces Road-Trip Mode, enabling group coordination with real-time tracking, multi-stop route planning, and emergency alert capabilities through Ola Maps integration.
The Easy Park feature provides low-speed maneuvering assistance for parking situations, limiting movement to 4 km/h in both forward and reverse directions. Users can control direction through throttle movement, with clockwise rotation for reverse and counterclockwise for forward motion.
Safety enhancements include Live Location Sharing through the vehicle's human-machine interface or mobile app, allowing riders to share their position with up to five contacts for predetermined time periods. The SOS Alerts system enables emergency contact notification with location data, while Find My Vehicle helps locate parked vehicles through light and sound activation via the mobile application.
The update introduces a Notification Centre that displays selected phone app notifications on the vehicle's display, with customizable settings for message visibility and WhatsApp alert preferences. New infotainment widgets provide live cricket scores and weather information, including air quality index data based on the rider's current location.
MoveOS 5 represents continued development of Ola Electric's proprietary software platform, which operates across both the company's scooter and motorcycle product lines. The company has positioned the update as part of its ongoing product evolution strategy, focusing on performance optimization and user experience enhancements.
