Ola Electric Cuts Roadster Prices, Starting at ₹79,999

Ola Electric announced on Monday that its Roadster electric motorcycle range now starts at ₹79,999, bringing it in line with entry-segment internal combustion engine (ICE) motorcycles in India. The announcement was made on Holika Dahan, March 3, 2026, under the banner of a festive campaign the company is calling Holi Mahotsav.

The Roadster X, the base model in the range, is available in 2.5 kWh, 3.5 kWh, and 4.5 kWh battery configurations, priced at ₹79,999, ₹92,999, and ₹99,999 respectively. The Roadster X+, positioned above it, comes in 4.5 kWh and 9.1 kWh configurations at ₹1,09,999 and ₹1,89,000.

Alongside the price revision, Ola Electric introduced a short-window offer called Muhurat Mahotsav, running on March 3 and 4. Customers will be able to purchase select units at a discounted Muhurat price, revealed only during two designated 90-minute windows on each day. During the same period, buyers can also opt for an eight-year extended warranty on the S1 Pro (3 kWh and 4 kWh) and S1 Pro+ (4 kWh) scooter models.

Ola Electric also extended an additional benefit of ₹5,000 to members of Ola Insiders, the company's loyalty program for its existing customer base of over one million users across India. The program, announced recently, offers three tiers of benefits: an upgrade path worth up to ₹50,000 for existing scooter owners moving to newer models, an add-on benefit of up to ₹20,000 for customers adding a second Ola vehicle, and a referral scheme where customers earn up to ₹5,000 in credits per successful delivery.

Ola Electric's broader scooter portfolio, the Gen 3 S1 range, spans models priced between ₹82,999 and ₹1,90,338, covering both mass-market and premium segments.

The Indian two-wheeler market is one of the largest in the world, with annual sales running into tens of millions of units. Electric vehicles currently represent a small but growing share of that market. Pricing has been a consistent barrier to adoption, with most electric motorcycles carrying a premium over comparable petrol models. The new Roadster pricing is an attempt to remove that gap at the entry level.

Ola Electric is listed on Indian stock exchanges and manufactures its vehicles at the Ola Futurefactory in Tamil Nadu. The company also operates a Battery Innovation Centre in Bengaluru and conducts research and development across India, the United Kingdom, and the United States.
