Oben Electric Lists Rorr EZ Electric Motorcycle on Amazon
Bengaluru-based manufacturer expands digital sales strategy as e-commerce platforms reshape automotive retail in India's growing electric vehicle market.
Oben Electric has made its Rorr EZ electric motorcycle available for purchase on Amazon, marking the company's entry into e-commerce retail as part of its strategy to reach digitally native consumers and first-time electric vehicle buyers.
The Rorr EZ is now available on Amazon in two battery variants: a 3.4 kWh model priced at ₹1,19,999 and a 4.4 kWh version at ₹1,29,999. Both prices include a ₹20,000 discount from the original pricing.
Madhumita Agrawal, Founder and CEO of Oben Electric, said the move aligns with changing consumer purchasing patterns as more buyers turn to online platforms for major purchases. The company views e-commerce as a direct channel to reach customers who prefer digital shopping experiences.
The Rorr EZ features a top speed of 95 km/h and can accelerate from 0 to 40 km/h in 3.3 seconds. The motorcycle delivers 52 Nm of torque and has an IDC-certified range of up to 175 km. It uses Oben's proprietary LFP battery technology, which the company claims offers extended battery life and heat resistance suited for Indian road conditions.
The motorcycle includes connectivity features such as geo-fencing, theft protection, unified brake assist, and a drive assist system. It is available in four colors: Electro Amber, Surge Cyan, Lumina Green, and Photon White.
Oben Electric is offering an extended warranty plan called Protect 8/80 for ₹9,999, providing coverage for eight years or 80,000 kilometers with full transferability to subsequent owners.
Founded in August 2020 and headquartered in Bengaluru, Oben Electric develops and manufactures electric motorcycles and components in India. The company holds more than 25 patents for its technology and positions itself as a research and development-focused organization.
The company plans to expand its physical presence to over 150 showrooms across 50+ cities by the end of the current financial year. Each showroom will include dedicated service centers to support customer needs.
India represents the world's largest motorcycle market, and Oben Electric aims to capitalize on the early stage of electric motorcycle adoption in the country. The integration of online sales with physical showrooms reflects the company's approach to reaching different customer segments as the electric vehicle market continues to develop.
