Nissan Expands CNG Retrofitment for Magnite to Six Additional States

Nissan Motor India announced the Phase 2 rollout of its CNG retrofitment kit for the New Nissan Magnite on July 2, 2025, expanding availability to six additional states driven by strong customer demand for eco-friendly mobility solutions. The retrofitment kit, priced at INR 74,999, is now available at Nissan-authorised dealerships in Rajasthan, Bihar, Jharkhand, Madhya Pradesh, Chhattisgarh, and Tamil Nadu.

The expansion follows the initial Phase 1 launch across seven states including Delhi-NCR, Haryana, Uttar Pradesh, Maharashtra, Gujarat, Kerala, and Karnataka. With Phase 2 implementation, the CNG retrofit variant is now accessible across 13 states in India, with Phase 3 preparations currently underway according to the company.

The retrofitment kit is manufactured by Motozen, a government-approved third-party vendor that provides quality assurance and installation services. The kit is compatible with the New Nissan Magnite's 1.0-litre naturally aspirated petrol engine with manual transmission and includes a comprehensive 3-year or 1 lakh kilometre warranty on all components.

Installation takes place at government-authorised fitment centres using homologated kits that comply with local regulations and safety standards. Customer feedback and third-party testing following Phase 1 rollout have indicated enhanced fuel economy compared to the standard petrol variant.

"The New Nissan Magnite continues to be a key growth driver for us in India, and we're committed to expanding its relevance in line with evolving customer needs," said Saurabh Vatsa, Managing Director, Nissan Motor India. "The Phase 2 rollout of our CNG retrofitment option reflects both the growing demand for cleaner mobility and our intent to offer credible, high-quality alternatives without compromising on the core strengths of the Magnite."

The New Nissan Magnite maintains its 336-litre boot space capacity following CNG retrofitment, which the company states is among the largest in the compact SUV segment. The vehicle features over 20 first and best-in-segment features along with more than 55 safety features. The compact SUV has established a global presence across more than 65 countries, including both Right-Hand Drive and Left-Hand Drive markets.
