Nissan Delivers 100 Gravite SUVs in Hyderabad at Landmark Event

Nissan Motor India marked the delivery of 100 units of its Gravite SUV in Hyderabad on April 22, 2026. The event was held at Le Palais Royal Crown Villa Garden in partnership with Vibrant Nissan, the company's dealership in Secunderabad, and represents one of the first bulk delivery drives for the model since its launch. The occasion was framed by the company as a marker of early customer traction in one of India's key automotive markets.

The 100-unit delivery count, while modest by mass-market standards, carries symbolic weight for Nissan as it attempts to establish the Gravite as a second pillar alongside the Magnite in its India portfolio. The company described the event as reflective of growing consumer confidence in the model, though it did not release broader sales data or projections at the time.

The Gravite is positioned as a family-oriented SUV, with Nissan highlighting its cabin space, flexible interior layout, and safety package as distinguishing features. The model targets Indian families seeking a practical and versatile vehicle, a segment that has seen considerable competition in recent years as multiple manufacturers have introduced similarly positioned products. The Indian SUV segment has been one of the fastest-growing categories in the domestic automobile market, with buyers increasingly shifting away from sedans and hatchbacks.

The Hyderabad event comes as Nissan Motor India works to broaden its reach through an expanding dealer network. Vibrant Nissan, the dealership partner for the event, operates a 3S — sales, service, and spares — facility on Mahatma Gandhi Road in Secunderabad, Telangana. The choice of Hyderabad, a city with a sizeable and growing middle-class consumer base, aligns with the company's stated focus on markets where demand for premium family vehicles has been rising.

The delivery drive also builds on the performance of Nissan's existing lineup in India. The Magnite compact SUV has accumulated over 200,000 customers globally since its introduction, and has been a key volume driver for NMIPL in recent years. The company appears to be using that foundation to introduce the Gravite to a customer base already familiar with the Nissan brand.

Nissan Motor India Private Limited was incorporated in 2010 as a wholly owned subsidiary of Japan-based Nissan Motor Co. Ltd., which has over 90 years of history in the automotive industry. The Indian unit serves both the domestic market and export markets across 65 international destinations. In 2025, the company reached a cumulative export milestone of 1.2 million vehicles from India, placing it among the country's leading automobile exporters. Globally, Nissan is also recognised for its work in vehicle electrification, including the Nissan LEAF, which has been one of the more widely adopted electric vehicles in international markets.

The company has not announced further delivery events or provided a timeline for expanding the Gravite's rollout to other cities, though its stated strategy points to continued network expansion as a priority in the near term.
