New Ducati Streetfighter V4 SP expected in 2027
A new Sport Production version of Ducati’s streetfighter could return with track-focused hardware based on the latest Streetfighter V4.
Ducati appears to be preparing a new Streetfighter V4 SP, following the discontinuation of the previous track-focused Streetfighter V4 SP2. A recent California Air Resources Board (CARB) filing for the Streetfighter V4 and V4 S lists a new SP variant, indicating that the performance-focused version could return to Ducati’s range.
The filing confirms that the upcoming SP will share its engine and emissions data with the standard Streetfighter V4, but does not reveal the specific hardware changes. Based on Ducati’s previous SP models, the new version is expected to receive upgrades aimed at improving its performance on track.
Track-focused hardware expected
The previous Streetfighter V4 SP was introduced in 2022 as a more track-focused version of the standard motorcycle. Although it retained the same engine and power output, Ducati equipped it with several upgrades.
These included a dry clutch in place of the standard model’s wet clutch, along with carbon-fibre wheels to reduce weight. It also received firmer suspension tuning derived from the Panigale, machined aluminium rearset foot pegs and upgraded braking hardware.
The braking package comprised Brembo Stylema R calipers and a Brembo 19/21 adjustable front master cylinder.
The SP2 followed in 2023 and added a MotoGP- and WSBK-inspired ‘Winter Test’ livery.
New SP to be based on latest Streetfighter V4
Ducati comprehensively updated the Streetfighter V4 for 2025, bringing changes to its engine and frame, a double-sided swingarm and new electronic rider aids.
The older Streetfighter V4 SP2 was subsequently discontinued. The new SP is therefore expected to use the latest Streetfighter V4 as its foundation, while gaining a set of track-oriented upgrades similar to those seen on the earlier SP models.
The CARB filing confirms the existence of the new variant but does not specify how its equipment will differ from the standard Streetfighter V4. Ducati has also yet to announce an official launch timeline.
Expected debut at EICMA 2026
The new Streetfighter V4 SP could make its global debut at EICMA 2026, which is scheduled to take place towards the end of the year.
If launched, the SP would bring the Sport Production treatment back to Ducati’s naked V4 range, following the same approach used by the Panigale V4 SP.
