NDR Auto Components Limited has received board approval to form a joint venture with South Korean automotive seat manufacturer DYA Co., Ltd. to design, manufacture and supply automotive seats and seat systems in India. The proposed joint venture involves an investment of up to ₹62.96 crore and will cater to Kia India and Hyundai India.

The joint venture company will be incorporated in India, with NDR Auto Components holding a 51% stake and DYA owning the remaining 49%. Its financial results will be consolidated into NDR Auto Components' financial statements.

The two companies will enter into a joint venture agreement outlining the terms of the partnership. The formation of the venture is subject to the execution of definitive agreements, incorporation of the joint venture entity and receipt of applicable regulatory approvals.

JV to Expand NDR's Automotive Seating Portfolio

The partnership will combine NDR Auto Components' existing seat component manufacturing capabilities in India with DYA's expertise in designing and manufacturing complete automotive seat systems.

NDR currently manufactures seat frames, seat trims and body-in-white components for passenger vehicles, utility vehicles and two-wheelers. Through the proposed venture, the company plans to expand its seating operations from individual components to complete seat systems, while adding Kia India and Hyundai India to its customer base.

DYA is an established seat supplier to Kia and Hyundai Motor in South Korea. The company manufactures complete seat systems for Hyundai Motor Group and has been supplying seats for models including the Kia Sportage, Seltos, EV5 and PV5.

The proposed joint venture will mark DYA's entry into the Indian market, with the company looking to explore supply opportunities for Hyundai and Kia's India operations.

DYA's Manufacturing Capacity and Operations

Headquartered in Gwangju, South Korea, DYA began manufacturing automotive seats in 1999. Its Gwangju and Hwaseong facilities have a combined annual production capacity of approximately 660,000 seats, based on 2025 figures.

The company also commissioned a dedicated electric vehicle seat production line at its Hwaseong facility in 2023 for Kia's mid-size electric SUV. In 2026, DYA plans to establish additional plants in Inju and Ulsan to manufacture seats and polyurethane foam pads for upcoming vehicle models, including the PV7 and the successor to the Kona.

DYA recorded consolidated revenue of KRW 633.3 billion in 2025 and employed approximately 503 people as of November 2, 2026.
