Montra Electric Expands with First e-SCV Dealership in Tamil Nadu

Montra Electric's e-SCV division, TIVOLT Electric Vehicles Private Limited, inaugurated its first electric small commercial vehicle dealership in Madhavaram, Chennai on March 17, 2025. This represents the company's first e-SCV dealership in Tamil Nadu and South India, strengthening its market presence in the region.

The dealership operates as a 3S facility (Sales, Service, Spares and Charging) through its channel partner, TVS Vehicle Mobility Solution Pvt. Ltd. Mr. Saju Nair, CEO of TIVOLT Electric Vehicles, and Mr. Madhu Raghunath, CEO of TVS Vehicle Mobility Solution, jointly inaugurated the facility in the presence of customers, financiers and other stakeholders.

The dealership will feature Montra Electric's EVIATOR, which offers a certified range of 245 km and a real-world range of 170 km. The vehicle delivers 80 kW power output and 300 Nm torque, with warranty coverage extending up to 7 years or 2.5 lakh kilometers. It also includes advanced telematics for fleet management.

"We are thrilled to open our first dealership in Chennai," said Mr. Nair. "This new dealership strengthens our commitment to delivering high-performance e-SCVs while bringing us closer to our customers."

Mr. Raghunath added, "This new dealership will not only solidify Montra Electric's position as a leading EV player in the region but also enhance customer accessibility to reliable and efficient e-SCVs."

Montra Electric operates as part of TI Clean Mobility Private Limited under the Murugappa Group. The company maintains four business segments including Heavy Commercial Vehicles, Small Commercial Vehicles, 3-wheelers, and Tractors.

India's electric commercial vehicle market has been experiencing significant growth as businesses seek sustainable logistics solutions amid rising fuel costs and environmental concerns. The government's push for electric mobility through various incentives has accelerated adoption in commercial segments.

The expansion comes as demand for last-mile delivery solutions continues to grow, particularly in urban centers where emissions regulations are becoming increasingly stringent. For Montra Electric, establishing a presence in Tamil Nadu, one of India's manufacturing hubs, represents a strategic move to capture the southern market.
