Mini has revealed the Countryman Untamed Edition, a more off-road-focused version of its SUV. Depending on the market, the edition will be available with the Countryman C, D, S ALL4, E and SE ALL4 powertrains.

Production is scheduled to begin in November 2026 at BMW Group's Leipzig plant in Germany, with international market launches planned for early 2027. There is no confirmation yet on whether the Untamed Edition will come to India.

Countryman Untamed gets higher ground clearance

The key mechanical change is a 15mm suspension lift, which increases ground clearance by up to 19mm depending on the market and variant. Mini says the increased ride height also improves the Countryman's approach and breakover angles. The SUV gets bespoke 19-inch alloy wheels fitted with specially developed Pirelli Scorpion All Terrain Plus tyres.

The ABS, dynamic stability control and steering systems have also been recalibrated to work with the revised suspension and all-terrain tyres. The Untamed Edition can be specified with Mini's ALL4 all-wheel-drive system on applicable versions.

Up to 2,000kg towing capacity

A tow bar is available as an option, allowing the Countryman Untamed Edition to tow up to 2,000kg. The roof can support up to 75kg while driving and up to 300kg when stationary. Mini has also developed a roof tent and other camping equipment specifically for the edition.

Rugged exterior styling

The Untamed Edition gets a redesigned front grille with angular inserts finished in Dark Steel. The same shade is used on the Mini badges, Countryman lettering, underbody protection and other exterior elements.

It will be available in: Hideaway Grey, Nomad Blue, Frozen Nomad Blue, Nanuq White, Midnight Black

The roof can be finished in Glazed White or Jet Black. Decals have been added above the wheel arches, while an Untamed badge featuring a mountain motif is positioned on the C-pillar.

Interior gets a tougher theme

Inside, the Untamed Edition gets sports seats with perforated upholstery and knitted sections around the shoulder and headrest areas. The knitted dashboard and door-panel surfaces use a Millennial Melange colour scheme combining dark grey and blue. The centre-console storage compartment gets a revised design with elastic straps, while rubber floor mats and a matching luggage compartment mat are also included.

Petrol and electric powertrains

Depending on the market, the Countryman Untamed Edition will be available with petrol and electric powertrains. The India-spec Countryman C uses a 1.5-litre three-cylinder turbo-petrol engine producing 156hp and 240Nm, while the JCW ALL4 uses a 2.0-litre four-cylinder turbo-petrol engine making 300hp and 400Nm.

The Countryman E uses a 64.6kWh battery and a front-mounted electric motor producing 204hp and 250Nm. Mini claims a WLTP range of up to 462km
