MINI Cooper Oxford Edition Launched in India at Rs 55.50 Lakh
The car will be imported as a completely built-up unit (CBU) and is based on the Favoured Pack.
MINI India has launched the Cooper Oxford Edition at an ex-showroom price of Rs 55.50 lakh. The limited-edition model was unveiled at MINI Speed Motorwagen, the brand’s newly opened dealership in Lucknow. Bookings are open at authorised MINI dealerships across India, with deliveries starting immediately.
The Oxford Edition marks 25 years of modern MINI and pays tribute to Plant Oxford in the United Kingdom, where the classic Mini was first produced in 1959 and the modern MINI has been manufactured since 2001.
The car will be imported as a completely built-up unit (CBU) and is based on the Favoured Pack. It will be offered in two exterior colours: Indigo Sunset Blue and Chilli Red. Both versions feature a white contrast roof with a Union Jack design, white mirror caps and 18-inch Slide Spoke two-tone alloy wheels.
The Union Jack theme continues inside the cabin through the steering wheel, floor mats, door sills and key cap. The model also gets JCW Sport Seats in Vescin Black upholstery, electric driver-seat adjustment and a panoramic glass roof.
Engine and performance
The MINI Cooper Oxford Edition is powered by a petrol engine featuring MINI TwinPower Turbo technology. It produces 204 hp and 300 Nm of torque, paired with a seven-speed Steptronic Sport dual-clutch transmission.
The car accelerates from 0 to 100 kmph in 6.6 seconds and has a claimed top speed of 242 kmph. Other driving-related features include adaptive suspension and JCW Sport Brakes.
The model features a 240 mm circular OLED touchscreen running MINI Operating System 9, with touchscreen and voice-control functions. The MINI Intelligent Personal Assistant can be activated using the command “Hey MINI”.
Other equipment includes a head-up display, wireless smartphone charging, Apple CarPlay, Android Auto, a Harman Kardon surround sound system, navigation and MINI Digital Key Plus, which allows a compatible smartphone to function as a car key.
The car also offers multiple MINI Experience Modes, including Go-Kart, Green and Vivid modes, which adjust selected lighting, sound and display settings.
Safety and driver-assistance features include cruise control, Parking Assistant, a rear-view camera, Dynamic Stability Control, Anti-lock Braking System, Brake Assist, Cornering Brake Control, airbags and a tyre-pressure indicator.
Commenting on the launch, Hardeep Singh Brar, President and CEO of BMW Group India, said the Oxford Edition brings MINI’s heritage to Indian customers and marks the brand’s 25 years of modern production.
