MG SELECT Unveils Irises Cyan Color Option for Cyberster Roadster
New blue-green exterior finish added to electric roadster's color palette alongside existing dual-tone combinations.
JSW MG Motor India has introduced Irises Cyan, a new exterior color option for the MG Cyberster electric roadster through its luxury brand channel MG SELECT, expanding the vehicle's color palette beyond existing dual-tone offerings.
The new blue-green finish joins the Cyberster's existing color options, which include Nuclear Yellow and Flare Red with black roof, and Andes Grey and Modern Beige with red roof. All combinations are offered in dual-tone configurations.
Milind Shah, Head, MG SELECT, JSW MG Motor India said, "MG Cyberster's Irises Cyan goes beyond a color choice. It brings out a sense of confidence and creativity while reflecting the car's progressive character and staying true to its performance driven DNA. At MG SELECT, design guides every decision we make. Each addition is intentionally developed to offer greater individuality and a heightened sense of luxury, allowing customers to build a stronger personal connection with their Cyberster."
The MG Cyberster is an electric roadster featuring scissor doors and a soft-top convertible roof. The vehicle draws design lineage from the MG B Roadster, a model produced from the 1960s through the 1980s.
MG SELECT operates as the luxury brand channel of JSW MG Motor India, focusing on premium segment vehicles. The division's current portfolio comprises two models: the MG M9 executive luxury vehicle and the Cyberster roadster. MG SELECT operates 14 experience centers across India.
The MG Cyberster was launched in India on July 25, 2025, at an introductory price of ₹74.99 lakh (₹72.49 lakh for early reservations), marking India's first and only all-electric roadster currently on sale. The model was scheduled for January 2025 launch but debuted at Auto Expo 2025 before its mid-year market introduction.
MG Motor India has sold 350 units of the Cyberster since launch, with the Cyberster and M9 combined achieving cumulative sales of 1,000 units through MG Select premium dealerships. These figures align with expectations for ultra-niche performance vehicles in the Indian market, where MG isn't targeting volume sales; moving 300-500 units annually represents success.
The Cyberster is sold exclusively through MG Select showrooms, initially operational in 12-13 cities, representing MG's brand reset from mass-market positioning to premium segment credibility. The MG Select channel is dedicated to New Energy Vehicles including EVs, PHEVs, and hybrids, with the Cyberster being the first product launched through this network, followed by the M9 electric MPV.
The Cyberster features a 77kWh battery pack with dual motors producing 510hp and 725Nm, enabling 0-100kph acceleration in 3.2 seconds and offering 580km MIDC-certified range. The vehicle is imported as a fully built unit, facing over 100 percent effective taxation, with MG absorbing substantial duty costs to achieve market viability.
Pricing and technical specifications for the Indian market have not been disclosed in this announcement.
JSW MG Motor India is a joint venture formed in 2023 between SAIC Motor and JSW Group. The company operates a manufacturing facility in Halol, Gujarat, with annual production capacity exceeding 100,000 vehicles. The facility employs 6,000 personnel across direct and indirect roles.
The joint venture's broader MG brand portfolio in India includes the Hector SUV, ZS EV electric SUV, Gloster premium SUV, Astor compact SUV, Comet electric city car, and Windsor intelligent crossover utility vehicle.
Morris Garages was established in the United Kingdom in 1924, producing sports cars, roadsters, and convertibles. The MG Car Club, founded in 1930 in Abingdon, maintains membership globally. SAIC Motor acquired the MG brand and has developed it under the CASE (Connected, Autonomous, Shared, and Electric) mobility strategy.
