MG Group Marks 30 Years of Bus Manufacturing at Zaheerabad Facility

MG Group has completed 30 years of operations at its Zaheerabad manufacturing facility, highlighting its position in the bus and coach segment.

The company said the Zaheerabad plant functions as an integrated manufacturing unit, covering fabrication, painting, trimming, assembly, FRP composites, electrical systems, and fire protection integration. Its Belagavi facility focuses on premium coach development, design, and prototyping.

Over the years, MG Group has supplied buses across segments including school transport, staff mobility, mofussil routes, and premium coaches.

The company received recognition at a national commercial vehicle industry forum, where it was awarded Application Builder of the Year, while its chairman and managing director was named Business Leader of the Year. It has also secured AIS-153 certification across multiple coach platforms.

MG Group reported revenues of over ₹700 crore and said it plans to expand manufacturing and technology capabilities. The company’s focus areas include scaling operations at Zaheerabad, expanding premium offerings at Belagavi, and increasing investment in automation and composite technologies.

In a statement, the company’s CMD said the bus segment remains central to India’s public transport system and that the company is focusing on manufacturing scale, safety compliance, and passenger experience.

MG Group operates as a bus and coach manufacturer with integrated engineering and manufacturing capabilities across multiple mobility segments.
