Mercedes-Benz Launches ₹1.30 Crore EQS 580 4MATIC ‘Celebration Edition’, Expands Luxury Network in Chennai
The limited-run EQS 580 ‘Celebration Edition’ debuts with enhanced rear seat features as Mercedes-Benz India inaugurates bespoke retail experiences in Chennai, adding to 11 new luxury touchpoints opened in 2025.
Mercedes-Benz India has introduced the EQS 580 4MATIC ‘Celebration Edition’, a limited-edition variant of its flagship electric sedan, priced at ₹1.30 crore (ex-showroom, all India). The launch coincides with the opening of a new ‘Atelier Experience’ retail facility in Adyar, Chennai, as part of the company’s wider expansion of its luxury retail network.
The EQS 580 ‘Celebration Edition’ brings several comfort-focused enhancements, particularly for rear-seat passengers. It includes features such as multi-contour rear seats with lumbar support and massage functions, executive seats that recline up to 38 degrees, and a Chauffeur Package with electronically adjustable front seats. Additional highlights include full Nappa leather upholstery, designer belt buckles, and MBUX augmented reality navigation. The electric sedan offers an ARAI-certified range of over 800 kilometers and will be limited to 50 units.
This product launch comes amid strong growth in the company’s battery electric vehicle (BEV) portfolio, which saw a 73% increase year-on-year up to May 2025. The growth is attributed to increased demand for high-end BEVs including the EQS sedan and SUV, EQS Maybach SUV, and the G 580 with EQ Technology.
The newly inaugurated ‘Atelier Experience’ in Chennai provides a personalized vehicle configuration environment under Mercedes-Benz’s MANUFAKTUR program. Located in the Adyar area, the facility spans 3,800 square feet on a 7,500 square foot plot, and includes digital and physical tools for configuring luxury vehicles across sub-brands such as Maybach, AMG, G-Class, and Mercedes-Benz.
So far in 2025, the company has launched 11 new luxury touchpoints and plans to open 19 more in the next five months. As part of its ‘go to customer’ strategy, Mercedes-Benz is expanding into emerging markets like Patna, Kanpur, Udaipur, Varanasi, and Bhopal, while continuing to invest in bespoke experiences for metro customers.
The Adyar showroom was inaugurated by Santosh Iyer, Managing Director & CEO of Mercedes-Benz India, along with Sharath Vijayaraghavan, Executive Director of Sundaram Motors, marking another milestone in the brand’s partnership with Sundaram Motors.
Mercedes-Benz India’s latest product and retail developments reflect its continued focus on combining product innovation with tailored customer engagement across established and emerging luxury car markets.
