Mercedes-Benz India Announces April 2026 Debut for All-Electric CLA Model

Mercedes-Benz India has announced the highly anticipated launch of its all-new CLA battery electric vehicle (BEV) scheduled for April 2026, marking a significant milestone in the luxury automaker's electric mobility strategy for the Indian market.

The German manufacturer began 2026 with strong momentum, introducing the locally manufactured Maybach GLS SUV and EQS Celebrations Edition. The upcoming CLA BEV represents what the company describes as its most important product launch of the year.

According to Mercedes-Benz, the CLA represents a comprehensive advancement in electric vehicle technology, offering improvements in range, charging speed, energy consumption, comfort, and intelligent systems. The vehicle is designed to showcase the company's commitment to leadership in electric mobility and in-car software development.

The CLA is the first model in a planned series of new Mercedes-Benz vehicles built on a software-defined architecture. The vehicle has already garnered international recognition, receiving the European Car of the Year award in Brussels in January 2026.

Global market response to the CLA has exceeded company expectations, with order volumes reported as significantly higher than anticipated. The vehicle features Mercedes-Benz's MB.OS operating system and next-generation MBUX interface, both incorporating artificial intelligence technology designed to enhance user experience.

The India launch will be conducted by Santosh Iyer, Managing Director and Chief Executive Officer of Mercedes-Benz India, coinciding with the company's 140th anniversary of automotive innovation.

The announcement positions Mercedes-Benz to compete in India's growing luxury electric vehicle segment, which has seen increased interest from consumers and manufacturers alike in recent years.
