Mercedes-Benz announces ‘best ever H1’ and Q2 sales in India: plans 6 new launches in H2 2024

BEVs continue their increased footprint with 60% sales growth, with more than 5% penetration in H1 2024 sales.

Mercedes-Benz announces ‘best ever H1’ and Q2 sales in India: plans 6 new launches in H2 2024

Mercedes-Benz also announced its best-ever H1 2024 and best-ever Q2 sales performance in India. The company continued its strong sales momentum, firmly leading the Indian luxury car market, recording its highest- ever H1 sales in its history. Mercedes-Benz retailed a record 9262 units in the January-June 2024 period, registering a 9% YoY growth. The company also introduced the EQA 250+ BEV, priced at Rs 66 lakh (all India ex-showroom) and and the EQB 350 BEV with a five-seater configuration, at Rs 77.5 lakh. 

The highest-ever six-monthly sales performance was driven by new and existing products, availability of volume models and an elevated customer experience delivered at retail level. There was sustained demand for Mercedes-Benz vehicles across entry, core and Top-End Vehicle segments.

The SUV segment continued to top customer preference with 55% penetration to overall sales, based on the robust performance from the GLA, GLC, GLE
and GLS SUVs. The sedan portfolio comprising the A-Class, C-Class, outgoing LWB E-Class and S-Class topped customer preference for a luxury sedan. Mercedes-Benz also witnessed robust demand for its TEV portfolio with
Maybach range growing the highest at 108% in H1 2024.

Mercedes-Benz’s BEV portfolio continued to gain traction, growing 60% y-o-y in H1 2024, with a penetration of 5% in H1 2024 sales. With the introduction of EQA 250+ and EQB 350 five-seater BEVs, Mercedes-Benz plans to have 6 BEVs by end of 2024, offering a BEV suited to each customer’s preference and requirements.

The company also introduced the EQA 250+ BEV, priced at Rs 66 lakh (all India ex-showroom) and and the EQB 350 BEV with a five-seater configuration, at Rs 77.5 lakh. 

With these two launches, Mercedes-Benz reiterates its ambitious EV roadmap for the Indian market, with an aim of offering a robust BEV portfolio comprising 6 world-class products this year. By end of 2024, Mercedes-Benz will have a BEV in each segment, catering to every customer’s need, starting from the EQA 250+ up to the luxurious EQS Maybach SUV.

Mercedes-Benz India has been steadily building a robust charging infrastructure across its Franchise Partner network, comprising DC Fast and Ultra-Fast Chargers (60 kW and 180 kW), in addition to offering complimentary AC wall box chargers to its customers with every BEV.
