Maruti Suzuki’s Feb Wholesales Rise 7%, Domestic PV Sales Remain Flat

Maruti Suzuki India Ltd reported largely flat domestic passenger vehicle wholesales in February, while its total wholesales grew in high single digits. The dispatch of compact segment cars continued to decline, offsetting the growth in utility vehicles.

The automaker’s total dispatches in February, including exports and sales to Toyota Kirloskar, stood at 213,995 units, up 7.3% from 199,400 units in the year-ago period.

However, Maruti Suzuki’s total domestic passenger vehicle wholesales remained flat, with a marginal increase of just 0.1% year-on-year to 161,000 units in February.

Sales in the mini segment, which includes models such as the Alto and S-Presso, were largely flat at 10,238 units compared with 10,226 units.

However, the compact segment, comprising Baleno, Celerio, Dzire, Ignis, Swift and WagonR, declined 8.99% to 66,386 units, indicating pressure in the hatchback category.

Utility vehicle sales, including models such as the Brezza and Ertiga, grew 11.9% to 72,756 units, reflecting strong demand for SUVs. Van sales were marginally higher at 11,620 units.

Total domestic sales, including vans and super carry LCV, rose marginally by 0.38% on year to 164,130 units. Sales to Toyota Kirloskar came down slightly by 1.54% to 10,710 units.

Meanwhile, total domestic wholesales, including sales to other OEMs, came in at 174,840 units, up 0.3%. Exports surged 56.49% to 39,155 units from 25,021 units a year earlier.

For the financial year 2025-26 to date, total cumulative sales rose 7.7% to 21.97 lakh units from 20.41 lakh units in the previous year.
