Maruti Suzuki Inaugurates 200th Nexa Studio

Maruti Suzuki India Limited has inaugurated its 200th Nexa Studio outlet, marking a milestone in the expansion of its premium retail footprint into tier-3 cities and semi-urban markets. The 200th Nexa Studio has been opened in Kharkhoda, Haryana, close to the company’s Kharkhoda manufacturing facility.
Nexa Studio is a compact retail format under the company’s premium Nexa channel. Designed for smaller markets where a full-scale Nexa showroom may not be viable, each Studio typically features a single-car display area and one service bay. The format enables sales and basic aftersales support within a limited footprint, allowing the company to expand into emerging demand centres while keeping investment requirements lower for dealer partners.

Launched in 2015, Nexa represents Maruti Suzuki’s premium retail network and retails models positioned above the Arena portfolio. While conventional Nexa outlets are concentrated in metros and larger cities, the Studio format is aimed at deepening penetration in tier-3 towns and semi-urban clusters, where rising incomes and aspirational buying are driving demand for higher-segment vehicles.
The location of the 200th outlet in Kharkhoda also aligns with the company’s broader strategy of strengthening its presence in Haryana, where it operates multiple manufacturing facilities. The Kharkhoda plant forms a key part of Maruti Suzuki’s capacity expansion plans to meet domestic and export demand over the coming years.
Smaller-format outlets such as Nexa Studio allow automakers to widen retail reach without committing to the higher capital expenditure associated with larger dealerships. For Maruti Suzuki, which has the country’s largest passenger vehicle sales network, the Studio model seems to complement its strategy of expanding touchpoints beyond major urban centres while retaining a distinct premium positioning under Nexa.
With 200 Nexa Studios now operational, the company is expected to continue expanding the format in line with demand from smaller towns, supporting its push to capture premiumisation trends beyond India’s top cities.
