Maruti Suzuki India Limited reported its highest ever monthly sales volume in April 2026, dispatching a total of 2,39,646 units across all segments. This represents a significant increase compared to the 1,79,791 units sold during the same month in the previous year. The performance was largely driven by the domestic market, where the automaker achieved an all time high of 1,91,122 units in domestic sales, up from 1,42,053 units in April 2025. When including sales to other original equipment manufacturers, the total domestic volume reached 1,99,592 units against 1,51,880 units recorded a year ago.
The domestic passenger vehicle category saw widespread growth, concluding the month at 1,87,704 units compared to 1,38,704 units in the corresponding period last year. Within this category, total passenger car sales rose to 96,725 units from 68,244 units. The compact and mid size car segment accounted for 80,659 units, while the mini car segment contributed 16,066 units to the total. Utility vehicle volumes also showed strong momentum, increasing to 77,892 units from the 59,022 units dispatched in April 2025. The van segment, represented by the Eeco model, saw a moderate rise to 13,087 units from 11,438 units previously.
In the commercial space, the company sold 3,418 units of its Super Carry light commercial vehicle, a slight increase from the 3,349 units sold in the same month last year. Sales to other original equipment manufacturers experienced a decline, dropping to 8,470 units from 9,827 units in April 2025. However, the automaker recorded substantial growth in its international business, with export shipments reaching 40,054 units during the month compared to 27,911 units exported in the previous year.
