Maruti Suzuki India Limited has officially commenced retail vehicle handovers of its newly deployed flex-fuel passenger platform, with executive members of the Indian Sugar and Bio-energy Manufacturers Association (ISMA) taking the initial consumer deliveries in New Delhi. The specialized vehicle rollout, executed at a corporate dealership, marks a practical expansion in the retail distribution of alternative fuel powertrains within the domestic automotive market.

The flex-fuel vehicle, configured on the standard Wagon R model architecture, is engineered to operate across varied ethanol-petrol mixtures ranging from baseline E20 up to a maximum concentration of E100 fuel. The mechanical integration is aimed at validating the reliability of current domestic biofuel infrastructure while demonstrating commercial fleet readiness for multi-blend internal combustion engines.

Niraj Shirgaokar, President of ISMA, stated that the adoption of flex-fuel technology represents a practical commitment to the long-term viability of the national ethanol blending program. Shirgaokar noted that the commercial integration of these platforms is intended to establish a consistent, long-term fuel demand cycle, which channels energy expenditures directly back into the rural economy to benefit agricultural feedstock cultivators.

Maruti Suzuki expects to expand delivery allocations of its flex-fuel variants to additional consumer pockets as localized fuel distribution centers scale their retail operations nationwide.
