Mahindra Trucks and Buses Sales Rise 47% in August 2026

Mahindra & Mahindra's Trucks & Buses business reported total sales of 2,495 vehicles, including exports, in August 2026, up 47% year on year from 1,701 units. The business includes the Mahindra Truck & Bus division and SML Mahindra.

Cargo vehicle sales rose 55% to 1,532 units during the month, while passenger vehicle volumes increased 35% to 963 units. Year-to-date sales for the combined business increased 17% to 14,893 units.

Mahindra said higher infrastructure spending, freight demand and replacement demand were supporting the truck and bus market, although rising input and fuel costs remained a challenge. The company also noted that the year-on-year comparison was influenced by a lower base in August 2025.

Mahindra Truck & Bus division sales rise 54%

Mahindra Truck & Bus division recorded total sales of 1,320 units in August 2026, up 54% from 859 units a year earlier. Cargo vehicle sales rose 56% to 1,040 units, while passenger vehicle sales increased 47% to 280 units.

The company also launched the Mahindra BLAZO iTRK during the month as part of its heavy commercial vehicle portfolio.

SML Mahindra sales grow 40% in August

SML Mahindra reported sales of 1,175 vehicles in August 2026, up 40% year on year. Cargo vehicle sales increased 53% to 492 units, while passenger vehicle sales rose 31% to 683 units.

For the year to date through August, SML Mahindra's total sales increased 14% to 8,216 units, although cumulative cargo vehicle volumes declined 2% to 2,018 units.
