Mahindra to hike prices across SUV and CV range from January 2025

Mahindra & Mahindra, a major player in the Indian SUV market, has announced that it will implement a price increase across its SUV and commercial vehicle (CV) range, effective from January 2025.

The price adjustment comes in response to rising inflation and increased commodity prices. While Mahindra has made efforts to absorb a significant portion of these additional costs, a part of the increase will be passed on to customers. The price hike will vary across different models, with the increase expected to be up to 3%.

Mahindra & Mahindra, a prominent name in the Indian automotive industry, has made significant strides with its range of SUVs, including models like the XUV700, Scorpio N, and Thar Roxx. Each of these vehicles has been designed with specific focus areas, offering a blend of performance, comfort, and technology tailored to different market segments.

The Mahindra XUV700, launched as a flagship offering, stands out with its advanced features and robust specifications. The SUV is built on the new W601 platform, and it comes with both petrol and diesel engine options. The petrol variant is powered by a 2.0-liter turbocharged engine that delivers a power output of around 200 horsepower, while the diesel engine is a 2.2-liter unit producing approximately 185 horsepower.

The engine options are mated to either a six-speed manual transmission or a six-speed automatic transmission. Additionally, the XUV700 offers an all-wheel-drive (AWD) configuration for better performance in varied driving conditions. The vehicle also features a 5-star NCAP safety rating, with a suite of safety features such as multiple airbags, ABS with EBD, and electronic stability control. Inside, the XUV700 is equipped with a large 10.25-inch infotainment touchscreen, connected car technology, a 12-speaker audio system, and advanced driver assistance systems (ADAS) such as lane-keep assist, forward collision warning, and adaptive cruise control.

The Mahindra Scorpio N, another popular model, continues the legacy of the Scorpio nameplate but with more modern design and upgraded features. The Scorpio N is offered with both petrol and diesel engine options, with the diesel variant being the more popular choice. The 2.2-liter mHawk diesel engine produces up to 175 horsepower and is available with either a 6-speed manual transmission or a 6-speed automatic.

For those seeking enhanced traction, the Scorpio N offers an optional four-wheel-drive (4WD) configuration. The SUV’s body-on-frame construction provides a rugged build, ideal for off-road enthusiasts. Inside, the Scorpio N boasts a more contemporary cabin, with features such as a 9-inch infotainment screen, premium upholstery, and a six-speaker audio system. Safety is a priority with features like front and side airbags, rear parking sensors, and electronic stability control. The Scorpio N offers a spacious cabin that accommodates up to seven passengers and provides ample boot space, making it a good choice for large families.

The Mahindra Thar Roxx, a special edition of the Thar, is tailored for off-road enthusiasts looking for enhanced aesthetics and additional features. It retains the rugged DNA of the Thar, which is well-regarded for its off-road capabilities. The Thar Roxx comes with a choice of petrol and diesel engines, with the 2.0-liter turbocharged petrol engine delivering 150 horsepower and the 2.2-liter diesel engine producing 130 horsepower. Both engine options are mated to a six-speed manual or a six-speed automatic transmission.

Like the standard Thar, the Roxx edition also offers a 4WD configuration. The Thar Roxx stands out with additional design elements such as new exterior colors, roof rails, and alloy wheels, which enhance its off-road appeal. Inside, the Thar Roxx is equipped with features like a touchscreen infotainment system, Bluetooth connectivity, and a rugged interior that is designed to withstand challenging terrains. The vehicle also maintains the Thar’s high ground clearance and short overhangs, making it ideal for tackling tough trails and uneven surfaces.

Each of these models from Mahindra & Mahindra brings a distinct set of specifications to the table, catering to a variety of preferences, from daily commuters to off-road enthusiasts. With a focus on performance, safety, and technological enhancements, Mahindra continues to strengthen its position in the Indian SUV market.
