Mahindra & Mahindra has launched the electric version of its XUV 3XO compact SUV, priced between ₹13.89 lakh and ₹14.96 lakh ex-showroom. The company announced that deliveries will commence on February 23, 2026, following the vehicle's unveiling in Jaisalmer.
The automaker stated that the top-end electric variant is expected to be priced lower than the equivalent petrol model, with on-road costs in some states potentially matching high-end internal combustion versions after government incentives.
The XUV 3XO, originally launched in April 2024, has demonstrated strong market performance, achieving close to 180,000 cumulative sales units. Mahindra described it as one of the fastest-growing models in its segment and indicated it may be the quickest to reach 200,000 units.
"The XUV 3XO rewrote the rules by bringing aspiration and accessibility together at scale. With the XUV 3XO EV, we are extending that winning proposition into electric mobility for customers who want an EV that simply fits their lives—day after day," said Nalinikanth Gollagunta, Chief Executive Officer of Mahindra's Automotive Division. "The XUV 3XO EV has been engineered around real usage patterns, ensuring that it meets everyday mobility needs reliably."
The electric SUV will be available in two configurations: the AX5 EV and the AX7L EV. Both variants feature a 39.4 kWh battery pack delivering 110 kW of power and 310 Nm of torque, with a claimed real-world range of up to 285 kilometers. The vehicle accelerates from 0-100 km/h in 8.3 seconds and offers three drive modes: Fun, Fast, and Fearless.
The base AX5 EV variant, priced at ₹13.89 lakh and expected to drive majority sales volumes, includes twin 10.25-inch displays for infotainment and instrumentation, LED projector headlamps, dual-zone climate control, electronic parking brake with auto hold, passive keyless entry, and wireless charging.
Safety features include six airbags, electronic stability program, tire pressure monitoring, and rear-view camera. The variant also incorporates Mahindra's Adrenox connected car technology with over 80 features and built-in Alexa support, along with wireless Android Auto and Apple CarPlay.
The range-topping AX7L EV, priced at ₹14.96 lakh, adds a panoramic sunroof, 17-inch diamond-cut alloy wheels, leatherette seats with soft-touch dashboard and door trims, LED fog lamps, and a cooled glove box. Technology upgrades include a seven-speaker Harman Kardon premium audio system with Dolby Atmos, 65W USB-C fast charging, and a 360-degree surround view system with blind view monitor.
The AX7L variant distinguishes itself with Level 2 advanced driver assistance systems, incorporating lane keep assist, lane departure warning and protection, traffic sign recognition, forward collision warning, auto emergency braking for vehicles, pedestrians and cyclists, high beam assist, adaptive cruise control with stop-and-go functionality, and smart pilot assist. It also features front parking assist and an auto-dimming interior rear-view mirror.
Both variants support superfast charging, with the battery reaching 80 percent state of charge in 50 minutes using a 50 kW DC charger. An optional 7.2 kW wall charger is available for ₹50,000.
The XUV 3XO EV incorporates frequency-dependent damping suspension and MTV-CL technology for enhanced ride quality, along with a turning circle diameter of 10.6 meters for urban maneuverability. Design elements include infinity LED tail lamps, roof rails, rear spoiler, and a contemporary stance that maintains visual continuity with the broader XUV 3XO family.
Mahindra indicated that the XUV 3XO has attracted diverse buyer segments, including first-time car purchasers, urban professionals seeking additional vehicles, and customers prioritizing technology features in a compact package. The electric version has been engineered specifically for customers who primarily use their vehicles for intra-city commutes.
The company emphasized that the electric launch represents an expansion of powertrain options rather than a transition away from internal combustion engines. Production of the XUV 3XO EV has already begun, with deliveries scheduled to roll out progressively from late February.
The launch comes as competition intensifies in India's compact SUV segment and electric vehicle market, with Mahindra positioning the 3XO EV as part of its strategy to offer multiple powertrain alternatives across key product lines.
