Mahindra Group CEO Emphasizes Values and Growth as Company Enters 2026

Mahindra Group's Chief Executive Officer and Managing Director Dr. Anish Shah has issued a New Year message to employees, reflecting on the company's performance over the past year and outlining priorities for 2026.

In the message dated January 1, Shah acknowledged that the company received the Economic Times award for Company of the Year and navigated what he described as an unprecedented level of uncertainty while maintaining performance across its business units.

Shah emphasized the company's commitment to governance, noting that Mahindra Group received its fifth Global Golden Peacock Award for Governance. He stated that the company's approach is guided by the principle "it helps me sleep well at night," which he said has built trust with stakeholders.

The CEO drew attention to the company's purpose and values as core to its identity. He indicated that how the company achieves results matters more than the results themselves.

Shah referenced an analogy developed by Anand in 2014 that compares the Mahindra Group to a Banyan Tree. According to this framework, each trunk represents a large business, while roots give rise to new businesses that eventually become trunks. The analogy emphasizes expansion while remaining rooted in values.

The message highlighted the Group Investor Day, where business leaders presented what Shah characterized as ambitious plans. He attributed the confidence behind these aspirations to the collective spirit across the organization.

For 2026, Shah outlined an approach focused on collaboration, agility, and execution. He concluded the message with the directive: "Think big. Do less. Execute flawlessly. And, most importantly, enjoy the journey."

The Mahindra Group operates across multiple sectors including automotive, farm equipment, information technology, and financial services.
