Mahindra Delivers Over 3,000 All-Electric Origin SUVs Since Launch

Mahindra has completed the delivery of more than 3,000 units of its newly launched all-electric SUVs—XEV 9e and BE 6—across India. The deliveries began on March 20, 2025, marking a key development in the company’s electric vehicle rollout.

According to Mahindra, the response to its electric SUV lineup has been encouraging, with the XEV 9e accounting for 59% of bookings and the BE 6 making up the remaining 41%. A significant number of customers have opted for the Pack Three variant, which is the highest trim currently available. The company also noted that in certain regions, waiting periods have extended up to six months. To address this, Mahindra is increasing delivery capacity across the country.

In an effort to ease the transition for first-time EV users, Mahindra has introduced a new 'Default' drive mode. This feature is designed to mimic the driving characteristics of traditional internal combustion vehicles, aiming to make electric driving more familiar and accessible.

To support new owners, each vehicle delivery includes a set of instructional videos. These guides provide information on topics such as charging practices, range optimisation techniques, and how to use the SUV’s connected technology features.

With this milestone, Mahindra continues to strengthen its presence in the electric mobility space, responding to growing demand for sustainable transportation options in India.

Mahindra & Mahindra has launched two electric SUVs—XEV 9e and BE 6e—under its Electric Origin range. The BE 6e is priced from ₹18.90 lakh, while the XEV 9e starts at ₹21.90 lakh. Both models are based on Mahindra’s INGLO Electric Origin Architecture, which has been developed specifically for electric vehicles.

The INGLO platform features a flat-floor design aimed at improving cabin space and stability. It supports two battery options—59 kWh and 79 kWh. As per MIDC Part 1 & 2 testing, the BE 6e offers a certified range of up to 682 km, and the XEV 9e up to 656 km. Both models are capable of fast charging, with the battery charging from 20% to 80% in under 20 minutes using a 175 kW DC charger.

In terms of performance, the BE 6e accelerates from 0 to 100 km/h in 6.7 seconds, while the XEV 9e takes 6.8 seconds. Both SUVs are powered by a 210 kW motor and feature an i-Link front suspension and a 5-link independent rear suspension with intelligent semi-active dampers.

The vehicles are equipped with Mahindra’s in-house artificial intelligence platform, MAIA, which runs on the Qualcomm Snapdragon 8295 chipset with 24 GB RAM and 128 GB storage. Connectivity features include Wi-Fi 6.0, Bluetooth 5.2, 5G support, and over-the-air updates.

Interior features include a wide-screen display in the XEV 9e, a digital cockpit in the BE 6e, an augmented-reality heads-up display (VisionX), and a 16-speaker Harman Kardon sound system with Dolby Atmos. Safety features include ADAS Level 2+, driver and occupant monitoring, and an autopark function.
