Mahindra Crosses 70 Lakh Tractor Production Milestone
Mahindra Farm Equipment Business has surpassed the production milestone of 70 lakh tractors, marking over six decades of operations. The company plans to expand its product portfolio further with new tractor launches and feature introductions in FY27.
Mahindra & Mahindra’s Farm Equipment Business (FEB) has crossed the production milestone of 70 lakh tractors, a development that reflects the company’s scale in the farm mechanisation sector and its presence in domestic and international markets.
The company, which operates through the Mahindra Tractors, Swaraj Tractors and Gromax brands, said the milestone comes as it continues to expand its manufacturing, product development and global operations. Mahindra FEB offers more than 350 tractor models and variants, along with a growing range of farm machinery products.
Mahindra Tractors, established in 1963, is India’s largest tractor brand, with manufacturing facilities located in Mumbai, Nagpur, Zaheerabad, Rudrapur, Jaipur and Rajkot, while research and development activities are based in Chennai. Swaraj Tractors, known for developing India’s first indigenous tractor in 1974, operates manufacturing, foundry and R&D facilities in Mohali. Gromax Agri Equipment Ltd., a joint venture between Mahindra & Mahindra and the Government of Gujarat, manufactures tractors under the Trakstar and Hindustan brands.
The milestone follows a year in which Mahindra FEB recorded annual tractor sales of more than 526,000 units in FY26. The company also expanded its portfolio with products including the Mahindra 585 YUVO TECH+ V1, Mahindra NOVO Premium Edition and Swaraj Protek, while continuing the international rollout of the Mahindra OJA range.
Mahindra FEB currently operates in more than 50 markets worldwide and remains the world’s largest tractor manufacturer by volume. The company said it plans to introduce seven new tractors and 12 new features during FY27 across the Mahindra Tractor and Swaraj Protek ranges, while continuing to develop smart agricultural machinery solutions across the farming value chain.
