Mahindra Auto Sales Grow 14 Percent to 94,627 Units in April 2026
Utility vehicle demand and a surge in three wheeler and export volumes support early fiscal year growth.
Mahindra and Mahindra Ltd reported a 14 percent increase in overall auto sales, dispatching 94,627 vehicles in April 2026. This total sales volume includes sports utility vehicles, light commercial vehicles under 3.5 tonnes, three wheelers, and export shipments.
In the utility vehicles segment, the company recorded domestic sales of 56,331 units during the month, representing an 8 percent growth from the 52,330 units sold in April 2025. When factoring in exports, overall sales for utility vehicles reached 57,833 units. The total passenger vehicles category aligned directly with the domestic utility vehicle performance, closing at 56,331 units.
The domestic commercial vehicle segment accounted for 23,427 units. Within this category, sales of light commercial vehicles weighing under two tonnes grew by 13 percent to 2,984 units, up from 2,652 units in the previous year. Light commercial vehicles weighing between two and 3.5 tonnes increased by 7 percent to 20,443 units compared to 19,141 units a year ago. The three wheeler category saw the highest growth rate, with volumes climbing 81 percent to 9,899 units from 5,470 units in the corresponding month last year.
Total export shipments for April saw a 47 percent rise, reaching 4,970 units against 3,381 units exported in the same month last year. Nalinikanth Gollagunta, CEO of the Automotive Division, highlighted the start to the financial year. "The year 2027 has begun on a positive note in April by achieving SUV sales of 56331 units, a growth of 8% and total vehicle sales of 94627 units, a 14% growth over the same month last year," Gollagunta stated.
