Lumax Auto Technologies has received the TPM Excellence Award from the Japan Institute of Plant Maintenance (JIPM), marking its second consecutive year of recognition under the global Total Productive Maintenance (TPM) framework.

The award, presented in Kyoto, is considered a benchmark for manufacturing performance, evaluating companies on parameters such as operational efficiency, maintenance practices, and continuous improvement systems.

The recognition forms part of a broader showing by the Lumax Group, which secured six awards at the JIPM TPM Awards 2026 across its manufacturing network. Lumax Industries Ltd (LIL) received Special Awards for its Bangalore and Pantnagar plants, Consistency Awards for Dharuhera and Bawal, and an Excellence Award for its Chakan plant. Lumax Auto Technologies Ltd (LATL), meanwhile, was recognised with an Excellence Award for its Metallics Kuruli facility.

In a statement, Vikas Marwah said the recognition reflects the company’s focus on strengthening shop-floor processes and execution discipline. He noted that business and plant leadership teams represented the company at the award ceremony, highlighting their role in driving operational outcomes.

Marwah added that manufacturing performance is largely determined at the operational level, where teams manage production processes, respond to customer requirements, and implement improvement initiatives.

He also outlined the role of leadership as setting direction, building capabilities, and enabling execution, while retaining overall accountability for business outcomes.

The recognition underscores Lumax Auto Technologies’ continued emphasis on TPM-led manufacturing practices and operational consistency across its facilities, while also highlighting the group’s wider push towards standardised manufacturing excellence.
