Logistics Veteran Pirojshaw Sarkari Joins Billion Electric's Advisory Council

Billion Electric Mobility has appointed Pirojshaw Sarkari as the Lead of its Advisory Council to strengthen its electric vehicle charging infrastructure across India's highways. Sarkari, who brings over 30 years of experience in logistics and supply chain management, will focus on developing a network of charging stations for electric trucks and buses.

The appointment comes as India's commercial EV sector faces infrastructure challenges, particularly for long-haul transportation. Billion Electric Mobility, which operates as an E-Mobility as a Service platform, aims to address these challenges by establishing charging stations along major transportation corridors.

Kartikey Hariyani, Founder and Chief Platform Architect of Billion Electric Mobility, said Sarkari's experience in scaling logistics networks would help develop the infrastructure needed to support electric fleets and make EV adoption feasible for logistics operators.

Sarkari's career includes establishing operations for global logistics companies Aramex and UPS in India. He also served as CEO of Mahindra Logistics for nearly a decade. Beyond his corporate roles, he has invested in emerging businesses through Inflection Point Ventures.

India's electric vehicle market has seen significant growth in recent years, driven by government initiatives and increasing environmental concerns. However, the commercial EV sector has lagged behind personal vehicles, primarily due to limited charging infrastructure for heavy vehicles. The country's electric vehicle policy aims to achieve 30% EV penetration in commercial vehicles by 2030.

Billion Electric Mobility's focus on highway charging infrastructure aligns with India's broader push toward electric mobility in the commercial sector. The company's initiative addresses a critical gap in the market, as most existing charging infrastructure caters to personal vehicles rather than commercial fleets.
