Lexus India launches mobile app offering automatic collision notification
The introduction of this app positions Lexus India as the first Asian region to offer a connected app for Lexus customers.
Lexus India, the Indian subsidiary of Toyota Motor Corporation's luxury arm, has introduced the 'Lexus India' app, which features an SOS button and remote climate control, and automatic collision notification, among other features. In the automatic collision notification, the vehicle will automatically initiate a voice call to a 24/7 Lexus Emergency Call Centre in the event of a crash and airbags deployment.
The announcement aligns with the commencement of deliveries for the Lexus RX, marking the debut of Lexus' inaugural fully connected vehicle in its Indian lineup. The introduction of this app positions Lexus India as the first Asian region to offer a connected app for Lexus customers.
Naveen Soni, President, Lexus India said, “In today’s age of rapid digital integration, we see smartphones and smart wearables as the direct route to keep our guests connected with their car, family and Lexus. The Lexus India app rewards our guests through exclusive access at the click of a button for a smooth ownership experience."
The app also has additional features such as Remote Ventilation enables to ventilate front seats remotely via the Lexus India App, Driver or chauffeur alert– Get Notified if your car leaves designated areas, exceeds the speed limit, or if the seatbelts aren’t fastened. It also has remote immobilisation, allowing the user to request prohibition of engine re-start if the vehicle falls into the wrong hands, besides 24/7 roadside assistance and service history.
