Lamborghini Unveils Urus SE Performante, Its Most Powerful SUV Yet

Automobili Lamborghini has unveiled the Urus SE Performante on 1 July 2026. The Italian brand is bringing back a badge it retired in 2024, as the petrol-only Urus Performante was discontinued that year, along with the Urus S, when the plug-in hybrid Urus SE took over the range. The new SE Performante revives the high-performance nameplate as a hybrid and is Lamborghini's most powerful SUV yet. The company has not confirmed when the model will come to India, and it will announce prices closer to the SUV's launch. For reference, the current Urus SE sells at an ex-showroom price of around ₹4.57 crore.

The Urus SE Performante pairs a 4.0-litre twin-turbo V8 with a permanent-magnet electric motor to produce a combined 812hp and 1,000Nm of torque. That is 146hp and 150Nm more than the previous Urus Performante. Lamborghini says it is the fastest Super SUV in the world, going from 0 to 100kmph in 3.3 seconds and reaching a top speed of 312kmph. The battery offers more than 60km of electric-only range.

Speaking at a media roundtable, Stefano Cossalter, Urus Line Director at Lamborghini, said the Performante sits at the summit of the range. "The Urus SE Performante is the pinnacle of performance in the line-up of Urus," Cossalter said. "It demonstrates the pure DNA of Lamborghini."

Lamborghini has cut weight even as it added power. The SE Performante is 32kg lighter than the Urus SE, bringing kerb weight to 2,473kg, and carries the most carbon fibre ever fitted to an Urus, across the bonnet, roof, wheel arches, side skirts and rear diffuser. A titanium Akrapovič exhaust saves a further 10kg. The result is a power-to-weight ratio of 3kg/hp, which the company calls best in its class.

Cossalter pointed to the company's carbon-fibre expertise. "Hybridising a car has a drawback in terms of weight. But weight management is something we can do pretty well here in Sant'Agata, especially leveraging our competent centre of carbon fibre," Cossalter told Autocar Professional. He added that the harder task was preserving everyday usability, since owners drive the car daily and expect comfort alongside track performance. "It's a secret recipe in Sant'Agata to find the right balance between weight reduction, incredible performance and comfort," he said.

On the running gear, the SE Performante introduces Lamborghini's AURA dual-chamber air suspension that cuts body roll during hard driving by 55 percent while reducing vibrations by 25 percent, addressing the stiff ride that marked the earlier Urus Performante. Braking is handled by an Integrated Power Brake system and a six-degrees-of-freedom sensor first seen on the Fenomeno, which was launched in August 2025, and together they lift braking performance by 10 percent over the previous Urus Performante.

The SE Performante also adds a Rally mode tuned for gravel and light off-road use, joining the Strada, Sport, Corsa and EV modes. Lamborghini expects the model to keep drawing new buyers to the brand, with Cossalter noting that the Urus has attracted roughly 60 percent new customers and 40 percent repeat buyers.

Lamborghini delivered 111 units in India in 2025, while globally, the Italian brand closed 2025 with a record 10,747 deliveries, its fifth straight record year, led by the Urus SE and the Revuelto. The company says it is now the only luxury super sports car maker with a fully hybridised range.
