Kshema Power Appoints Mohan Shanmugam as Overall Head of Projects

Kshema Power India Private Limited has appointed Mohan Shanmugam as Overall Head of Projects, marking a strategic move to bolster its project execution capabilities as the company expands its renewable and hybrid energy portfolio.

Shanmugam brings over 30 years of cross-functional experience in power and transmission infrastructure across the Middle East and India. In his most recent role as Senior Project Director at Al Gihaz Holding in Saudi Arabia, he oversaw the delivery of Extra High Voltage (EHV) transmission and Smart RMU projects valued at over SAR 3.8 billion. His responsibilities spanned competitive bidding, tendering, execution, and financial alignment across multiple geographical locations.

His career also includes senior leadership positions at Senvion India and Alfanar India, where he led execution teams for wind energy projects.

John Gomez, Vice President of HR at Kshema Power, said Shanmugam's appointment strengthens the company's leadership during a period of rapid growth in renewable and integrated hybrid power. Gomez highlighted that Shanmugam's experience managing multi-billion-rupee projects would be vital for strengthening the company's project execution framework and reinforcing its commitment to client satisfaction and timely commissioning.

Shanmugam expressed enthusiasm about joining Kshema Power during what he described as a transformative phase in the renewable energy landscape. He stated his priority would be integrating global best practices into the company's execution strategy while maintaining commitments to safety, quality, and precision.

In his new role, Shanmugam will implement a strategic framework to enhance delivery capabilities. His mandate includes standardizing project management methodologies, optimizing staffing models, accelerating execution timelines, managing client relationships, and strengthening on-site delivery excellence across the company.

Kshema Power, established in 1998 by Dr. Sateesh Basant, is a Chennai-based engineering, procurement, and construction (EPC) firm specializing in renewable energy infrastructure. The company has executed over 4.5 GW of wind energy projects and installed 1,600 km of transmission lines for various Indian states. Its services include wind and solar park development, utility-scale and rooftop solar installations, and transmission and distribution projects.
