KPIT Technologies expects to grow by 27–30% in FY24 on back of robust business visibility for next 3-5 years

KPIT Technologies, a software-driven solutions provider for car and truck manufacturers, reported revenue of US$418 million (Rs 3447.246 crore) during FY23, a 27.4% increase from the previous year. The company expects revenue growth to be between 27% and 30% in FY24, based on strong business visibility over the next 3–5 years.

The company's net profit increased by 39% to Rs 381 crore during the same period, driven by strong demand from strategic accounts, middleware and architecture, autonomous systems, and diagnostics.

KPIT Technologies' management outlook remains positive despite financial meltdowns in some of its key markets, including the US and Europe. The company believes that even though macroeconomic strains persist, its long-term engagements are unlikely to be significantly affected.  KPIT Technologies reported revenues of approximately US$ 150 million from the US in FY23, followed by US$ 195 million from Europe and US$ 73 million from Asia. The company anticipates faster growth in the Asian business, based on some of its recent engagements.

"There may be an overall economic slowdown, but it may not have a direct impact on us," says Sachin Tikekar, President and Joint MD of KPIT Technologies. Since the company's business focuses on future technologies rather than current vehicle sales, it remains somewhat shielded from such impacts. "We have to keep watching the global scenario," Tikekar added during a post results conference call on Wednesday.

During Q4FY23, KPIT Technologies reported a net profit of Rs 111.6 crore, a 41.5% increase YoY from the corresponding revenue of Rs 1,017.36 crore. The company closed Q4FY23 with a total contract value (TCV) of US$ 423 million (Rs 3488.481 crore), including US$ 250 million (Rs 2061.75 crore) for strategic engagement with Honda. "The order book continues to look solid," according to Kishor Patil, Co-founder, CEO, and MD of KPIT Technologies, who added that the company changed its outlook twice during the previous fiscal year and the final financial numbers have exceeded expectations.

In March, KPIT Technologies and Japan's Honda announced an agreement in which the Pune-based company will provide services in the areas of autonomous driving, vehicle electrification, in-vehicle infotainment systems, and platform software. The partnership is set to expand to over 2,000 software and vehicle system professionals from KPIT across the globe, and will power Honda's SDM roadmap until 2030 and beyond.

Likewise, Renault Group chose KPIT Technologies as a strategic software scaling partner for the French automaker's next-generation SDV (software-defined vehicles) programs last November. KPIT will provide software services for ADAS, chassis, body electronics, platforms, systems engineering, and vehicle validation. The SDV technology programs are expected to add value to Renault's vehicle production roadmap, which is set to begin in 2026.

New partners to join the KPIT-ZF collaboration

Talking about the KTIP-ZF collaboration, the  management stated that they are looking to bring another one or two partners into the company , as the strategy is to make it an independent entity.  The joint development aims to fill a gap in the market for a mature, modular, integrated middleware solution that enables mobility OEMs to manage the increasing software complexity of vehicles while retaining full architectural control.
